Isn`t it strange that our brave soldiers are in Afghanistan risking their lives to give the people of Afghanistan a better future and their fit young men are squatting in Calais trying to get over here to live handsomely off benefits ?
 
I dont get why people are blaming our government for immigration with comments like I wish they would grow balls - hello they are in France trying to get here - not here because we haven't let them in.

We cant and wont stop them trying to get here we just need to make it as hard for them as possible.
 
I have some sympathy with anyone without a home and future, but I've thought about this and conclusions are that here in the UK we are already in difficulties with housing & costs to welfare, besides having a limited space & now with Government plans to make many thousands of houses on our green land, we really need to export people so to have just 50,000,000 instead of the ever increasing population maybe 10 million too many at present, and I'm not proposing a cull on our elderly generation who fought the many wasteful wars (for this Nation!?)
Maybe they should bring our troops home, & return those people who are fit, offering housing them & their families as conscripts to the Afghanistan forces.
 
Yes, quite - and have you noticed there never are any women with them. Aren't the mothers/sisters/daughters worth the time, trouble and money to get to Calais? When they get to England the local girls can't understand them and nor do they want them, they come from a culture which represses women and no English girl is going to stand for that 14th century nonsense - what happens with these young men? In York we have certainly had two women attacked on the street at night by eastern european young men - fortunately both were within screaming distance of people who came to help. Our local paper and BBC station have never said anything about their description in print or on air! Beggars belief doesn't it this damned political correctness!!!

To get to Calais these draft dodgers have to travel through 7 countries.
Iran, Turkey,Bulgaria, Serbia Austria, Germany and France so whats so wrong with these countries if they need to escape Afghanistan so badly. Or is it just the case that Britain has more generous post offices than the other 7.
