The Duchess

Just came back from seeing this and I was pleasantly surprised. Not a big fan of period dramas but thought it was great and an interesting storyline.

As a point of principle I usually try to avoid these sort of films. I don't like the idea of being endlessly told about the whims and fancies of an aristocratic elite when it would have been these sort of people who would have been crapping all over the folks who most of us are decended from today.

I was pleasantly surprised though. Kiera Knightly gave a great performance and played a very likable character.

The movie was amazing.

It was full of emotions and Keira is defenitely the best actress who could express the feelings of the young Georgiana Spencer. There was not much action or things happening but this wasn't neccessary. The desperation and fear of the Dutchess was enough to fill the whole movie with energy and tension.

I could feel the hate towarRAB the Duke of Devonshire and also suffer the pain of Georgiana.

Maybe it is one of the best movies of the year....I can fully recommend it.

But after I left the cinama and thought about a comparision to Diana I couldn't find a commonness. Their lifes just seem similar when you pick the right scenes out of the movie (as the trailer does for no question). But when you see the whole movie the life of Georgiana and Diana have nothing in common.

Well this was my impression of the Dutchess.... I am happy I've seen it.
