The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

Oh dear Nathan, I get defensive and then offensive when Kate Ryan's destruction of Ella elle l'a is mentioned.;) France Gall's original was on my shortlist.

I was hoping someone might have picked something from Clouseau who are still delivering 20 years on even if they hated their Eurovision experience, it was with Toto after all.

Lots to consider on this list and one new gem to savour.

I hadn't actually got past a second choice - I was a bit arrogant as I didn't expect anyone to go for my 1st choice as fast as they did. (Although I expect it will be a crowd pleaser as well as the recipient of my 12 points!)

I am very happy with my choice though. Why Karolina Gočeva should be considered when voting:

1. Even on mute she puts in a pleasing performance - she's a pretty lady!

2. Macedonia isn't the greatest of ESC nations - they need all the support you are willing to give.*

3. Unsurprisingly, she is the only Macedonian entrant to make our list.

4. Karolina also entered in 2002 - everyone loves a returning artist!

5. Although not as blatant as Milan, she name checks the Balkans - "Mojot svet se vika muzika, nema vera nitu granica. Mojot svet se osum noti, edna du

I have a good feeling about this year (as I do every year :)), especially because 2012 is a year for the UK to shine! So I think we'll either make a big effort this year, or 2012 when all eyes are on the UK will be a good opportunity for us to win!

As you can see, there is currently a tie at the top. The same song that was top yesterday is still there today joined by a song that was mid-table but has jumped up to joint first. :)

I'm not sure what is the most surprising, that an American band know where Europe is or that the cover version is so good. I also like Jennifer Braun's ballad version from the original selection process. Seems like it's a song that can stand a lot of remixing.
