I found an article from a Maltese website which says that the Maltese union of composers and authors is threatening to boycott Malta Song For Europe 2011, due to foreign songwriters being allowed to submit song. http://www.timesofmalta.com/articles/view/20101010/opinion/for-goodness-sake-it-s-just-a-sing-song

Apparently, for this years MSFE, 52% of the 123 songs submitted were written by just 5 different composers, with one of those composers submitting 32 songs. I wonder who that composer was??? ;):p

I'm surprised Grace Borg hasn't kicked up a fuss yet.
 
I think they should have picked Sieneke to do a Lena and comeback next year. This is her latest offering and looking as young as ever she's keeping with the same winning formula.

I would ban the UK each year but just after they'd picked their song to avoid any further embarrassment. Maybe they could bring back the pre-selection behind closed doors that was used in 1996.
 
Damn....I'm so tempted to change my song. I'm happy with what I've chosen but driving home tonight a song came on the radio that just made me grin like a Chesire cat and I immediately thought "That's it!!!" Do I keep it for next week or do I send it now?:confused::confused:

I think we need more semi-final rounRAB.:p
 
I've not had much chance to check out the newly added songs for Belgium until now, and I totally agree about "C'est La Musique". It's a wonderful piece of pop and totally right for Eurovision too. Watch the Belgian's discard it at the first opportunity!:D
 
I can't count how many times I've wished for her to represent us. Particularly since she's big around Germany and Belgium (among others). Sadly until the Beeb stop treating the show like a cheaper version of the X Factor with added campness we'll not be treated with such glory.

I honestly thought I wouldn't get Alcazar - Chris will vouch for me, I had a load of backup songs cos I never get my first or second choices :p Was scared I was gonna get lynched!

I agree on principle however I don't have to money to shell out out on a massive aerial to point at Ireland and this laptop is too poor to stream Octoshape particularly well!
 
Ahhhh I finally won one! Thanks guys, and especially marrakech for running it :D Only on phone so can't post properly yet, but yey!

Time to start thinking of the next one :P
