On the 17th I'm meant to be starting the "Song and Act you would have loved to have seen take part in The ESC".

In the last week my work load has doubled in size and it's going to be like that for the next few weeks (:() and I was wondering if anyone else wanted to run it instead?

If noone wants too, I will still run it but I was just wondering if anyone else wanted too?

I missed the results of last week's comp so am pleased my Austrian Calypso singer qualified. I was really excited when i heard Kristina Pelakova and "Horehronie" being played in a major department store in Bratislava whilst I was on hols this week. I had to run and tell my friend who was totally disinterested but its always great when you hear a Euro song in the "real world". Btw on the plane on the way home I played all the Austrian entries ever on my mp3 in a row, oh they have been dire and sent very few good songs over the years. Did like Garry Lux 1985, Thomas Forstner 1989, Simone 1990 and Mess 1982 though.
I would have loved to have entered this week's contest and probably would have chosen Mia Martini as my artist.
BBAnne - Can't believe it was you who chose Ba na Ba na! Hopefully you have been converted to its many charms!

Still waiting on at least 7 votes, which are surely gonna change things. Current standings are as follows

1st . . . 71
2nd . . . 65
3rd . . . 61
4th . . . 60
5th . . . 59

Votes need to be by 5pm Sunday.
It's all to play for! :D

How about Lena Philipsson?

I've already decided on my Balkan entry and my non ESC song, the latter is even from an EBU country and in compliance with number of people on the stage (I'd definitely have 5 dancers!) And I know that we're not having those rules but even if we did I'm sorted!

Voting for these songs is very hard!

There are about 4 very well known songs in that list that I like, I've known them for what seems like forever and they are up against 4 songs that I had never heard of before but I also like them too!

Ah well, at least I have my top 10 songs now .... just might take a bit of effort to put them in some kind of order! :D

Strange choices from the Finnish on-line selection. I like the Saara Aalto song which is one of the qualifiers but,as you say, the winner won't come from the 3 qualifiers.

In other news, Ovi and Paula have been announced as the hosts for the Romanian National Final.

I choose France.

They bring nothing to the party (except a large amount of dosh).
Their usual entry is some boring woman singing some boring song about amour.

(Actually I liked this years entry, because it was a football song. And it certainly inspired their team  )

Second Choice, Russia.
Because their last two entries have been dirges. If the Russian people want to be depressed, fine, just don
