The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

My votes sent :)

Im really starting to think I have chosen the wrong song for my artist, was so many good ones to pick from

But that's the joy of this forum RogerMilla, we do all have such varying tastes, and one man's meat is another man's poison ..... you only have to look at the voting on the forum's main poll every year to see that, there are very few songs from the years offerings that end up with the dreaded null

Embrace the differences!

Thank you! Although I have reservations that my first win is in the worst competition - ah well, hopefully this'll be the 1st of many!

And yes, I couldn't actually get through your choice a single time, it had to be my 12 pointer!

i lost count of the number of times i replayed the czech national final performance.. not sure what happened.. i think i was hypnotised by the dancers and went with the flow.. i even had a go at an english translation as the offical one was dire.. the song lost something in its travels.. i blame the sound engineers.. regardless of its final placing, imo it is by far and away the naughtiest eurovision songs of all time..

I was thinking the same thing re the next round, hence the research - so have "outed" you in a way now :p You'll have to keep searching now :D :D

Oooh nice twist. Will still do awfully bad no matter how it is twisted haha

For the next competition, what about best last place at Eurovision? Not that I really have time to organise it......

Azerbaijan
They're nothing but trouble, they treat the contest like a way of getting back at Armenia and always find new ways to piss them off every year, how they havent already been withdrawn is beyond me but atleast their entries have been good, well, the screaming angels on their 2008 debut is an almighty exception.

Noooooo!!! I demand Chicken's recount too :p I always knew that it was Drew that had taste on this board.....

Poor NEO, if it wasn't bad enough that he had to sweep the stage at Globen :(

Hopping just one point ahead is portugal's entry...

Oh you fools! I should have won just because it's me! :D

Well done Jo, it really is sung beautifully, a very well deserved victory.

I really hope the BBC get their act together for next year, but it all depenRAB on their priorities. Like I've said before, it's obvious that most of the budget they spent on eurovision 2009 was in 2010 given to 'So You Think You Can Dance' and 'Over The Rainbow'. Eurovision was given the dregs left over. The good news is that there is no ALW show in 2011, so there is more money there to be spent on Eurovision, but will they do it?

If there's one thing that will give them the kick up the backside is the shockingly, but understandably, low ratings for YCNY (2.9m ) and the contest itself (5.5m). In the past, the BBC were able to get away with putting in minimum effort because, for some absurd reason, viewing figures went up for most of the last decade . 2010 proved they can't do that anymore.

I still can't believe that they let Katie Melua and Xenomania slip through the net this year.
