I'm glad to hear it.
I was on Anzej's twitter the other day btw. Apparently he "must find a job, must find a job". Throw some money at him Anne and you can have him in your living room singing acapella versions of Mr Nobody every night!
Nathan, I thought you meant Bosnia Herzegovina 2005 ("Call Me"), which would have fitted in perfectly with what you said and been a great ringtone! I wasn't attempting to be, um weird.
Amazing, somebody (and I know it's one of you lot because a tracking link sent me to this thread) has read a wee bit of my blog at some point in the last week! Nothing of any Eurovisiony (or MelFesty) relevance but interesting nonetheless to see one of you folks feigning some sort of interest in my extra-Euro-curricular activities Thank you whoever you were!
Well, I've decided that I will open the submissions on Monday October 11th with the results on Sunday October 17th. (those that have already PM'd me with their entries will count towarRAB the contest.)
This week will be the week of the Second semi-final.
You're not wrong. The NF version piddles all over the Eurovision version. Which raises an interesting point.......by awarding points to the song purely on the strength of the NF performance, am I in fact voting for a song that didn't actually appear at Eurovision which means it really isn't eligible for this poll.
Kate Bush was on a preliminary list of artists for me and I would probably have edged towarRAB This Woman's Worth too. Or Wuthering Heights for the obviousness!
I like the look of this round much than I initially did the first!
I love that Kirsty MacColl and The Killers have been chosen. I also lovelovelove Paloma Faith and Noisettes and could easily have chosen either of them. I've seen them both live (Paloma twice!) and they would be perfect for the Eurovision stage.
I have my top 10 already just from looking at the list although I'm going to give all the songs a fair chance to break into my votes too!
I've not seen the performance of GonaRAB since 2008 and had forgotten how badly he trashes the song......the piano line running through the song is excellent but it's all in vain.
I've taken up residence in 13th place as I think this my 3rd time. Thank you for the votes especially sbrum1984 and portugal. Massimo is still performing the song as well as ever 22 years on. As for the "sax solo", I've noticed it replaced with an electric guitar a couple of times but they shouldn't tamper with perfection.
Massimo still has his own hair but seems to have become heir to Toto's no longer required hair dye.
Also, if we have three "semi's" (someone told me we can't really have three semi's, since a semi indicates two but never mind), how many songs should qualify from each? Top 8? 24 for the final?
A girl group singing live , could that be the reason for their removal? However this appears to be the audio of the live performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shhegbFIRy0
Truthfully though, esctoday annoys me just as much. They are so bloody neutral and safe all the time. Sometimes I like a bit of Oikotimes nonsense.
I can't believe they are continuing with the online selection idea. It's brought them almost no success. Let it go Spain, have an internal selection and send Coral.
