The DS Eurovision Thread (Part 8)

You know I had this in all my provisional points lists, but when it came to it, I just couldn't vote for it. I think it's ingrained in my brain now . . .

I guess if they are different years it doesn't really matter? I think we should just throw everything into the mix and compare what could be apples with oranges ... it will be interesting!

One bloody mary please ;)

I said 'Un blodymary, por favor' to my Spanish friend and he thought I actually wanted a bloody mary. :D

11 sets of votes received - and there's a leader!

1. 67pts
2. 56pts
3. 45pts
4. 38pts

But that said, it's still wide open, the leader has received nothing from 3 voters and the second place has received nothing from 4 - so it's by no means over

All songs have had points awarded to them :)

Aww, I honestly thought this would have done better but at least it's a top 10 finish so I can't really complain. :)
Next time I'm gonna pull out all of the stops, just you wait and see!

Welcome! We are having fun and games in the off season, and running a series of competitions to find... the best ever non-qualifier for a final, the best ever non-winner, the best ever NF song that didn't go to ESC, the true victor between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the moral winner of 1969, the best UK entry over the last 20 years, the Ultimate ESC Winner, and now the best non-qualifier for MF (have I forgotten any?!)

Feel free to join in - and good to have new blood here for the NF season which is kicking off :)

I'm just re-watching 1993, Wogan has mentioned for Bosnia that their conductor didn't make the plane as it was deemed "too dangerous" for him, so the orchestra was conducted by the evergreen Noel Keelahan. He followed the performance by saying that Bosnia have the pain of the whole world upon them. It was very wrong then to be followed by the over-bouncy Sonia! When Sarajevo appeared in the voting on a very squeaky phoneline (sounding for all the world like he was speaking from a bunker somewhere) there was a spontaneous round of applause from the audience. I had thought also that Wogan waxed lyrical about Croatia, but it seems that our memory has been clouded on that one....

Chickens - further to what "Don't Ever Cry" reminRAB us of, the best I can come up with is some ALW musical number? Sure i've heard it before!
