I just read that Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein; along with Cree Summer and James Arnold Taylor will have a panel at Comic-Con talking about the new Drawn Together DTV movie that is scheduled for release this November. Has anyone else heard any news regarding the plot or what it's about?

wow, I had no idea they were even making a DTV movie, awesome.

Drawn Together was a weird show. Definitely underrated though.

Yeah it tried too hard at times to be shocking and didn't live up to its full potential but it was still very funny and deserved more attention instead of all the hate it got.

I bet the plot is going to be ****ed up, more ****ed up then Fritz the Cat and Heavy traffic put inside of a blender with south park. But Im guessing the plot will have the characters will get into something of reasons unknown.

Maybe we might see some characters parodied like Chowder or 6teen in this.

The show arguably got away with more than any other series on Cable television, even more than South Park. I can't imagine what effed up crap is going to happen in the movie but I'm sure it will be very very funny.

I remember this show. I used to like watching it as part of SBS's Monday night schedule with South Park or The Mighty Boosh. Good show. Yes they did get up to some rather strange stuff didn't they. Hmm well i imagine the movie is just a one off thing, and they aren't planning to make a new season?

No, production ended sometime in late 2006. Comedy Central confused a lot of fans though by waiting to air the second half of the third season until October 2007, so many people assumed that was its fourth season. The show was often the second highest rated series behind South Park on the network, but strong content and high production costs along with the fact that the network was getting miffed at the long lead time between seasons caused them to cancel it but they broke a deal with the creators allowing them to do a Direct to DVD movie.

One of the creators summed it up in one of the commentaries on one episode (forget which one). He basically said that it was costing them money because they were only ordering small seasons (14 episodes), where as if they upped the episode count per season, CC could have justified the cost of the show and they'd essentially start MAKING money off the show.

It's a shame because it seemed like Dave & Matt really tried hard to keep this show going when CC had already made up its mind. It's odd because they pushed this show really hard during its first season giving it full page ads in magazines and such. But by season 3, it barely had any marketing.

I heard a rumor that it's going to be called, "Drawn Together vs. Israel", but "The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie" is also another good ridiculous title.

I guess, like everything else that it is awesome, we'll have to wait until the end of July to find out about. I love SDCC, even though I have never been to it, I can always count on it to deliver awesome interviews and news...

Well what can they really do to be "shocking", I really hope not since it'd be just shocking for the sake of shocking. The series already has a reputation of all it did was trying to be shocking instead of it being actually good. I disagree since I found the show very good and not because of anything "shocking".

I don't really know what they could do, I mean the DVDs of the seasons are already uncensored and have un-pixelated nudity. Only thing that would be shocking is if they explicitly show a vagina or them having sex explicitly which won't happen since it wouldn't be sold in most places and only adult stores..

People wrote this show off as "shocking" without really noticing all of the clever writing and humor that was there as well. There were many times where the series went over the boundaries of bad taste, but the show made me laugh like hell, isn't that what comedies are supposed to do?

... I hope to God it's Spanky. *shot* Eh seriously though, Spanky's alright, but I think I'd only want Toot killed off just so they'd stop making fun of her. :/

The trailer is formatted as if it were a teaser trailer to be played in... theaters. o.o So maybe it's not just for DVD after all? :/ I don't know if that's a good idea personally (It's not like Drawn Together is really that well known or as well known as South Park was when it released a movie.), but... I still support the idea of proving for the thousandth time that cartoons aren't just for kids. It's a stereotype I'm disappointed Fritz the Cat didn't completely wear off.
