The Dragon at night, DARK

Four of us were up there this weekend.
Got trapped in Cades Cove for 5 hours and tried to take Parson's Branch out. It was a total nightmare.
Had to turn around because we could not make it up the hill. When we finally made it out it was 10pm-ish and we rode River Road and then 441 back to Bryson City in the Dark.

That was serious fun.... could not see a thing.

Buddy crashed on the Cherahola which forced us to ride the Dragon at night last year. Man did that SUCK. I upgraded the lighting up front due to that experience.

Me and the wife were up there this weekend and the resort was out of control. Hard to find a place to park. Getting around inside was crowded. Food lines long. And with all that... the staff was pleaseant and the food was cheap and hit the spot! The leos walking around were nice as well, seems a girl went down just prior to us getting to the store. The crowds didn't bother us... like a good bike night where you go around and look at other rides.

The only thing that sucked was we were third in line behind a car that was going 20 miles an hour and there was no way anyone was passing them! Took FOREVER! Had to remind myself to stop being aggrevated and look at the beautiful scenery! once that took hold everything was good!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it!

Not to mention the mist that comes up off the river too! I just finished a 1600 mile ride to the Dragon last month, had a blast and want to go back already (roads in NE Ohio are pretty boring...).

I was out early the one morning and almost hit a bear on the Dragon - that would have left a mark!

you got to love an area where the ride to the ride is just as awesome, pretty much all the roads out there are good rides, a few years ago a local guy gave me a route to do and it was some of the best riding I ever did, The road to the left of the deals gap store (hell bender) route 28 I believe is another great ride.

Yeah but the bear would have had a nice evening snack

Another one that's little known is Wayah(?) Road, the locals called it the Little Dragon. It's a blast to ride, probably took me a good 45 minutes to run it, no intersections of any kind, and I could swear I heard banjo music playing the entire time!
