
Lifehacker reader Timothy Bohen built his standing desk out of MDF sheets with some simple pine trim and painted the whole thing black. Once paints and assembled you'd never guess that it wasn't purchased as is. The cables are all routed through the legs of the desk, the power strip is actually under the floor, attached to one of the rafters directly below the desk—a rather clever solution for banishing cable clutter.
