I have just been given some homework to create my own art journal, i must show a variety of artwork that i have created, and include anything that has inspired me or triggered me to create the pieces of art. I must also include the artwork and inspirations of any other artwork and reference them accordingly. The art journal must include personal and emotional expressions on which i need to reflect on within an essay of 500 words to go alongside the art journal. I have until the end of october to complete the journal However im confused about why its called a journal and not a portfolio? My teacher explained that a portfolio is pieces of artwork inspired by a specfic topic or artist that is then collected with many different ideas and drawings that you wanted to add your own twist onto, and the journal is more personal pieces of work that inspired you but you added your own emotions of feelings and the reflection of process. Im confused please help?
