The Devil Wears Prada

Wasn't it just the Princess Diaries, for grown ups, but not really grown up enough for grown ups? I waited for something to happen, and then ....nothing.
Meryl Streep was excellent, but otherwise....nothing.

Hmmm.... Not sure what you were expecting to "happen", as it was essentially a ficionalised version of Lauren Weisberger's year working for Anna Wintour at Vogue with a few tweaks and the names changed. Anything more than a "year in the life" feel would have lessened sincerity of the impact of this story, IMO.

Loved the film but thought the ending could have been better. Left some unanswered questions, but then it was an easy going film not necessarily designed to be analysed. I really enjoyed it - Meryl Streep was fantastic, I have been trying to imitate her voice ever since!

I loved the film, Streep was fabulous and all the nastiness was fabulously acted out. A thoroughly enjoyable film I found and I will be buying the DVD when it comes out

Anne Hatahway is so-so, Emily Blunt & Meryl Streep are Perfect - Ending in the book much better - also there are a few missing elements from the book that could have made what is already agood move - absolutely hysterical

I actually much prefer the film to the book. Streep's Miranda is a much more rounded character than the Miranda in the book. Nigel's speech to Andy (in the film) where he tells her she's whining summed up my feelings about the Andy of the book. It's basically one long whine from a woman whose spineless self-pity would have tried the patience of a saint, let alone a Miranda.

Have seen this movie twice - once with my girlfriend, and another time on the plane from America to England - absolutely love it. Considering it's meant to be a 'chick flick' - as a guy, I thought it was excellent. Meryl Streep is perfectly cast, and the other girls (I think their names were Andrea and Emily?) were fantastic too - especially Emily.
