I saw this film last night (from the comfort of my sofa ) and thought it was fantastic. I have read the book and there was one major part in it that i don't remember happening if anyone can help (don't read if not seen the film):
In the book i don't remember Miranda getting a divorce - does this happen? Also i don't think Miranda would open up that much to Andy or let her see her in a state - or maybe i've just read too many books and am getting confused.
Overall i thought it was a fantastic film and even my OH liked it.
Dut to the fact that i took my girfriend to see the "blokes film" Cildren of Men a couple of weeks ago I thought it only right that I should g osee a film of her choice and we went to see this one.
I was pleasantly surprised. A very smart funny film that I thoroughly enjoyed.
I went tos ee it with two of my frienRAB and all three of us loved it. Being girls we could relate to it and to be honest it is a very good film containing some excellent acting especially from Meryl Streep.
Really liked this film. Usually when I've read the book before seeing a film made of it I constantly compare the two, but this seemed like a seperate film for some reason. The ending's better in the book though
Saw it today - in my opinion don't bother. Anne Hathaway really didn't hold her own, she was the weak link in Brokeback so shouldn't have been surprised but a lame film. Everything was so predictable - i'd give it 2/10.
True, but a bland Hathaway and the paper thin plot aside, didn't you think that Emily Blunt and beautifully understated Meryl Streep were just sublime? Those performances alone made it worth the ride for me.
Meryl Streep was fabulous! I love she wasn't as over the top in her deliverary of her lines as some other actresses would have played the character. It was great how she said the bitchiest thins in this calm mono-tonic way I found it really effective. Brilliant actress! Anyway the movie came together pretty well, bland but better than I expected mainly down to Meryl's performance. Anne Hathaway was kinda boring but she was at least vaugely likeable though. I'd give it 6.7/10
