The Descent

Ok...

First of all it was Juno's fault they were in that mess for lying to them and taking them to unexplored caves, which is quite treacherous. Second, Beth said she was a traitor because Juno was having an affair with Sarah's husband at the time of his death, pretty treacherous thing to do if you ask me. Then after she accidently impaled Beth she left her despite the fact that Beth begged her not to leave, Beth also probably was uncertain as to whether she meant to harm her or not. THEN when Sarah asked Juno if she'd seen Beth die Juno LIED and said she had when Sarah knew she'd left her to die alone. I think all this added up in Sarah's mind, she was angry, and going slightly mad and that's why she left her for dead.

I dont think she deserved to die but i can see why Sarah did it, after all....She was a bit of a knob that Juno.

Yeah, but I'm not holding out much hope for it - it'll be a straight to DVD effort, Marshall's not at the helm and it's totally not needed. The original was pure class!

The Descent is fantastic. The first 10 minutes are fantastic and the rest of the film builRAB up from there. For me, the sense of clastrophobia was intense, this film really attacked my senses! Is definately on a par with his previous film Dog Soldiers.

Did you watch the movie to the end? If not, you wouldn't have realised the narrative segment at base camp plays a significant part in the outcome of the film which in my opinion is one of the best horror thrillers in recent years!

Oh it has a decent 'twist' at the end as well!

Good Lord, you are a moron.

No, not for having an opinion (you're just itching to play that card). But for judging the entire movie on the first 5 mins.

I thought The Descent was one of the greatest and most terrifying horror movies in a long long time.

I didn't think much of the way Sarah attacked Juno. I don't know whether she did this because she had an affair with her husband or because Juno accidently killed one of the other girls. After this point I didn't really care who lived or died in the movie.

The crawlers also became less scary as more and more of them were being killed off quite easily. For creatures that supposedly hunt their food they sure did look amateurish.

'Buying the farm' means to get killed.

If at that point you didn't care who lived or died in the movie it must have done it's job well as by then there were only two characters left anyway!!!At least you cared about the other 5 beforehand.

I dont think we were supposed to think much of it to be honest, that was the moment i knew not even she'd get out alive, you can't have a hero that's basically condemned someone to their death, even when they arguably deserve it.

I think she did it for both those reasons but the thing that triggered her was the fact that Juno lied to her, she asked her about Beth 'Where is she? Did you see her die?' and Juno lied and said she had when Sarah knew Juno had left Beth to die all on her own. If Juno had been truthful and said, 'i was so freaked out that i'd killed her that i ran off and left her and i feel really bad for it' i think Sarah may not have attacked her.

Another reason Sarah attacked her was because she was going mad(i cant think of a better way to say that), she stopped taking her medication at the beginning of the film, and the title 'The Descent' has a double meaning, it means the descent into the caves and also her descent into madness.

However i like the fact that this film wasn't all cut and dry goodies and baddies because in reality under those circumstances no one knows how they'd react. I'm pretty sure i'd go nuts too...

Incorrect, there are loaRAB of films people give up on after 40 odd minutes. I suppose you would class them all as morons.

It is up to the viewer how much he wants to see, if he doesn't like what he sees you can't force him to like it. I take it you have never walked out on a movie or changed the channel when you didn't really like a certain movie, you, too would be a moron if you have done either of these actions according to your statement.

To be perfectly honest the main cast were not very likeable characters. Most of the female leaRAB were a bit mouthy and some of them were too similar in character so it was difficult keeping up with who was killed by what and who didn't like who etc.

There was too much b!tching about going on between them which prevented viewers from wanting any of them to live.

i would sugest do not buy it.i am a big fan of horror and thrillers and this is one of the weakest films this year.i was realy looking forward to see it,because it had grat reviews, and as i said i love a good scare.it was very boring, long and drawn out.the acting was pretty crap too.and when it got to by the way exciting climax( )their was no excitement.i would suggest you rent it.dont waist ur money on buying this.it is crap.storyline crap as well.
