Last night, I saw Martin Scorsese's Mean Streets and it reminded me of what a great director he is. I hope he gets the Oscar next Sunday.

I surely hope The Departed will win. It was an excellent movie.
Best Buy is having a 2-disc "limited edition" version. Also, I'm guessing if the studio plans another DVD release, it won't be for at least a few years (an anniversary edition like Reservoir Dogs).

Yeah, it really was. And they all gave such great performances... they alone deserved best picture. Combined with the script, effects, music, etc. This movie totally deserved the award this year.

I also love the scene in her office...I also love the scene later in the movie when they are outside at night and he just leans his head into her. And when he tells her he had no where else to go.

I know a Special Edition 2 disc DVD will be released the same day as the regular disc--but I'm sure in a year a better disc will come out---I'm buying immediately as I have zero patience

I feel like watching it again....maybe I will...lol
My brother bought me the DVD but still haven't brought it over. He tells me to go pick it up but I'm lazy plus I hate driving over there (it's only like 15 minutes away, mind you). :lol: Well, tonight he took my car so he better bring me the car AND the DVD tomorrow. I want to celebrate the only way I can: watching the movie.

Are you guys going to buy the DVD or will you wait a while and see if there is a special edition coming out later? I hate it when that happens but I'm sure it will happen to The Departed.

:lol: i hated crash with a vengence and still do...but i loved babel (well most of it...minus the cheiko storyline)
