I watched the remake of "War of the WorlRAB" and was thoroughly underwhelmed. I still remember watching the original when I was a kid, and the strange, rattling sound when the Martians were preparing to fire their "heat rays" makes my blood run cold, even now...

Spielbergs vision of WotW was a well made film - but it still cant better the imagery ,impact and sheer sense of wonder of the original - even though its 55 years old.

Michael Rennie is brilliant in the original, Keanu Reeves can't act his way out of a paper bag so I think the remake will be a turkey.
