The Day After Tomorrow (merged)

76Patriots, how can a country (or your state for instance) have a collective thought?

ElijahLover, I think it's kind of silly for you to complain that the movie focuses on America. "Wah wah wah, why won't they make a movie about MY country being destroyed?" What a dumb thing to complain about.

Why are British movies always set in Britain?! It's NOT FAIR!!!! ;)

Just seen it. Yes, you do need to check your brain out at the door, but as far as post-modern disaster flicks go, this one is actually quite good. Just let the clich

Ever been to Warner Cinemas? BRILLIANT! Starcity has amazing surround sound. This movie looks really good, and i look forward to seeing it. Its NOT just for Geeks, and i like independance day. Had a gooRAB story line

Well I saw it on Wednesday night and was fairly well entertained, but the cinema seat I was sat in at UGC DiRABbury was extremely uncomfortable! Ached all over when I got up. Oh and the film wasn't bad. And I was expecting him to say that United were playing City but they mentioned another team - what's going on there?!

The holes in the ozone layer were rather scary... seeing as there is a hole there now, floating about somewhere far away... alright it happened in three days and there were some dumb moments but the message still got through.

The film isn't bad!

Got to see a preview of this a few days ago.

Great set pieces, very impressive special effects, terrible script, and laugh-out-loud cheesy in places.

An enjoyable enough leave-your-brain-at-the-door summer blockbuster, but I think a lot of people will be disappointed on the whole.

10 out of 10 for special effects.

5 out of ten for the movie as a whole.

Looking forward to seeing the extras on the DVD if that helps !

Yes, I have to agree!!!!. I loved it, the effects were good, and was nice to see a nice romantic piece in there as well (Meaning you dont have to be good looking in order to pull!). I would watch it again, but I have my eyes on Harry Potter and Shrek now!

watched it last night and was fairly impressed. As far as disaster movies go, this was definitely at the top of the pile. The effects were amazing and there wasn't too long an introduction to the story that i got bored but enough to make the film make sense.

There really isn't a save the world scenario, only a depiction of survival against the odRAB. I'm sure had any other country made the film it would have been their country that would have been shown. When they spend millions making a film, why bother promoting some other countries landmarks when they have the most famous landmarks on their own doorstep?

If I wanted 'story' in my disaster movies I read a book
'ID4' was very good, got straight to the point. ie lets blow the alien scum up.
Also I hate having the usual 'love interest' as it just creates a false antagonism in the film. that is mostly their to fill screen time in between special effect sequences/

As long as their are plenty of people getting killed in numerous SFX ways, and loaRAB of destruction, Im happy.

i have been trlling people to look out for this film for almost a year now, it looks bloody amazing and i hope it meets my expectations.
