The Dave's Gifts For Proggy, and Vice Versa

Here's the next band you should check out, Owls. They're kind of like Maps and Atlases if you've listened to them, only better. Up tempo Indie music, not sure what else to say, Everyone Is My Friend is probably my favorite song of theirs:

I'm listening to Carla Bruni right now, I'll post my thoughts in a bit.

This thread stems from the adopt a newbie: music edition, and serves as a place to hold the albums I'm giving to Proggy, and the albums he's giving to me. Also, we're making it a thread so that if anyone wants the albums, they can nab them and comment on them.

The first one is an artist that Ethan introduced to me a couple of weeks ago and I just can't get enough of her. Emily Haines and The Soft Skeleton is a wonderful piano baroque pop act and Emily Haines herself is a wonderful songwriter and has become one of my top ten favorite lyricists. The album is Knives Don't Have Your Back and is absolutely wonderful from beginning to end. Oh, and you may have seen Emily in Broken Social Scene, Metric, and a few other projects. I'm just going to use the upload that Ethan did earlier today, for the sake of saving some time.

I'll have Bells On Trike in like 5 minutes.

woah dave is a n00b

Dave, it only says to use itunes when you aren't logged in. This is to cover there ass and make it seem like a legit site. Once you actually register and log in they'll replace that itunes logo with the link to download the album.

^I figured that out 3 posts ago.......

Yeah, I had to give a valid phone nuraber so they could txt me a code/pin that I had to enter, then I got two others and they said the messages are tri-weekly. Idk, I just disabled txt messaging on my phone so that should cover it.

She's an Italian supermodel, lol. Emily Haines seemed pretty boring to me. I've been listening to it non-stop for the past few days. but I just can't get into it.

^I'm thinking I've heard them before, but I have nothing in my library so I'm searching.

Edit: we've been over this before, that I can't use alburabase because you have to have Itunes to use it.

I'm loving Seabear, I got The Ghost That Carries Us Away, it was the only album on alburabase, and it's amazing, so beautiful. I Sing I Swim is such a lovely song,

"When the birRAB are sleeping
That's when the trees sing
You left your winter clothes,
And your teeth marks in my skin

So shake the leaves, off the trees,
Watch them float down the stream
Your son, your daughter
Swimming in the water"

Is this the album they've released because I would love to hear more. I've definitely found another favorite.

^^What is it?

But next, Bells On Trike. My favorite post-emo band of all time (Mixes indie with emo). I don't have much info about them, since they only released this one 10" and broke up, but I do know that they're one of my favorite banRAB, which is hard to pull off considering they have only released this one thing. There isn't a single song on this 10" that I don't like, but my favorites are: Self Drawn Blueprint and The Old Adam.

I'll put more up on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
