Well, I'll explain what it appears to be at first glance.
By virtue of your statement the following things can be surmised:
1.) Watching old movies will never par to the theater experience.
2.) Judging acting ability at home is not the same as the theater experience.
And if by your words, statements 1 and 2 are true, then re-watching a film from the early 90's at home does not constitute an accurate comparison of a movie that is currently in the theaters.
Now if you ask me what I think- I'll pretty much tell you that you're being a ridiculous elitist troll trying to show off just how much older and wiser you are- much akin to a college student revisiting a high school party and trash talking to a bunch of Sophomores.
But hey, who am I to say anything? I was 10 when the movie came out, and didn't see it until I was 20.
