The Dark Knight SPOILER thread **Do NOT read if you've not seen it**

Remember that Harvey's nickname given to him by cops was "Two Face". He always had it in him. It took Rachel being targeted by the Joker and Gordon being 'killed' to bring it out of him.

This is what the Joker wanted. To take a decent man and turn him bad. In fact if you've read Alan Moore's and Brian Bolland's "The Killing Joke" it's exactly the same... only it wasn't Harvey the Joker was trying to turn, it was Gordon.

I went to see this on sunday and thought it was brilliant! Probably the best film i've seen all year. I enjoyed all the perfomances, but Heath Ledger was pretty amazing. I'm hearing people say that Batman was a boring character, but i think he was played well by Bale. Same as Batman Begins. I was hoping to see more of Cillian Murphy (scarecrow) though. Aaron Eckhart was brilliant..i wanna see it again! Pencil Trick was excellent, i won't recreate it though. I promise...ill try.

P.S Gary Oldman was great, i remember wondering in the film how wierd it was that he was in one of the biggest films of the year and his sister was in eastenders (Big Mo). Not to be mean...im just saying....

So what was everyone's favourite scenes?

Mine's were:

- 'Why So Serious?'
- 'You're Crazy!' ~ 'No I'm Not, I Am Not' (The Mob meeting)
- The interrogation scene ~ 'Who Did You Leave Him With' (lifts his hanRAB to show the hand cuRAB)

Oh I really do hope so! He's just too brilliant lose now IMO!

Please oh PLEASE let him come back:D!

Yeah those scenes were brill.

But the little "Pencil" trick is still my favorite though! That and "HIIIIII":D.

So according to Downey Jr the film is too complicated, too highbrow, he didn't understand it and thought you needed a college education to do so...

Dear oh dear. I think you can insert your own 'if you take that many drugs I'm surprised you can understand anything' jibe in here. Kind of embarrassed himself with those comments really.

Of course; but in that film he was a more sympathetic character.

I think the difference is probably as much in the acting as the script. Even fans of the film seem to accept it is the Joker's film rather than Batman's.

I don't think he was ever two-faced. It was just at the start if wasn't clear whether he was good. He was, but it wasn't clear.

Good. I don't want to take that away from you or to spoil anyone's enjoyment of the film.

Yes, but in the killing joke Mr J. raped gordons daughter and put her in a wheelchair and in the dark knight he gave two face a 2 minute pep talk in the hospital to send him off the deep end. Sorry, not really convinced here.

Saw it tonight, haven't got over it really, soooooooo good! I had massive expectations for this film and we all know how dangerous that could be but it lived up to every bit of it. Loved it, loved the direction it took, the plot involved, seeing 2 outcasts with very different views battle it out. Just a classic good vs. evil story with some innovative motives for the characters. Not a blockbuster action film but a very intelligent thriller. Heath Ledger, well, stunning really. There really is no bandwagon to jump on here it was from start to finish a phenomenal performance! Now more than ever I think Hollywood knows it's lost a real talent. AMAZING performance as the joker, played to perfection. The scene with Batman in the interrogation room was incredible.

All in all, easily the best Batman film ever and the best film I've seen this year to date. Really, really loved it.

Went to see it last night, and thought it was a great film. The whole of the cinema sat in total silence, no popcorn or sweetie rustling sounRAB going on, thank God!
The Joker's scenes with the disappearing pencil and in his nurse's outfit caused laughter, of course, but everyone seemed to be totally in to it.

Heath Ledger's performance was outstanding, and I liked Christian Bale as Batman. I haven't actually seen Batman Begins, which my mate lent to me before we went last night, but not seeing it firstly didn't make any odRAB to me following the characters.

The only gripe I had was the sound quality, where the surround sound was sometimes too loud to clearly hear the actors talking in some scenes, especially Gary Oldman, as he's quite softly spoken in it, although I still managed to make out what was being said.

The film was great and I loved the darkness of it. My mate thinks Bale is one of the better Batman's, which I'd agree with.

Bale was great and he has certainly settled into the part, but we've seen him in the role before. That's why for me the film belonged to Heath and Aaron. For much of the film I thought Heath was playing a great villain, but not necessarily the Joker, but I liked that take on it. Then the interregation scene between him and Gordon totally blew me away. Followed by the fantastic scenes in the hospital.

It was Rachel's death coupled with his facial burns that sent him over the edge moreso than the scene with The Joker. The Joker just directed Dent's anger in a certain direction. Besides, we could already see he had a bit of the nutjob side to him, he was just kind of repressing it all the time.

Well I understand but I still think it could have been done better. Great make up job though, nice and gruesome- I predict the bbfc will get some flak for giving this a 12A.

Also I think batman's need to have the people believe in harvey dent even if it's all lies was somewhat strange. I don't mind batman being a fascist and all, but he picked an odd big brother for the proles to believe in there, as you say, he had a nutjob side. And I may be picking at things here, but two face didn't kill that female dodgy cop, so presumably the dent was nuts story would get out anyway.

Definately embarrassed himself. Perhaps he was trying to read too much into the film and just wound up confusing himself? I dunno. The 'F*** DC' comment was completely unnecessary too.

Did anyone else notice the joker didnt actually die?! he just laughed his way out.

Im sure that there will be a 3rd. What with the ending etc. There hasnt been any discussions yet.. But at the end of BatmanBegins there were none either..

but harvey dents funeral?
