The Dark Knight SPOILER thread **Do NOT read if you've not seen it**

I've just rewatched "The Dark Knight" again tonight and OMG it's just as amazing if not even better the second time around:D! Espcially with the brilliant Characters of The Joker and Harvey Dent/Two-Face:).

Hell I've even began to notice small, subtle things I didn't even notice the first time round:eek::o:)!

Still haven't warmed to Rachel though:osorry:o.

All I'll say is that it'll take an awful lot to top "The Dark Knight" with the 3rd Film which hopefully they'll be able to achieve IMO:).

Completely agree with you kyri:).

Even though I like The Joker just as much as Two-Face; with The Joker we knew he was just a pure evil person who doesn't deserve any sympathy from us (great job Heath! Well done:)) while with Two-Face his Story is just so tragic and like you said, we actually saw the transformation of his Character and while it doesn't justify his acts; you can understand where he's coming from so you really can't help but feel sorry for him really:((once again well done to Aaron Eckhart for his wonderful performance:)).

And like I said before, the way the Film ended I really don't think we've seen the last of Two-Face;). (Please let him be in the 3rd Movie!)

As for Gordon how on EARTH did he become so brave all of a sudden:confused::p:D! Don't get me wrong I do like Gordon but you've got to admit, that was quite a transformation;)!

I am sure i read somewhere that Aaron Eckhart signed on for 2 films, so i would suspect he will be back for part 3. I think it would be a bit of a waste to kill of two-face when he was just getting going.

I just wanted to expand on my thoughts on this film, which is a must see movie I think, but I have to say I was a little disappointed, and I think it's the batman character I'm not happy with. It just lacked an emotional punch, Batman's oldest friend, his only chance of a normal life gets murdered and he basically behaves the same way he's behaved the rest of the film with little notice paid to what's happened. It didn't ring true. Maybe I was over hyped but the movie tried to be emotionally intense and failed to pull it off IMO.

And I didn't really get two face either, why was he trying to kill gordon's family instead of, you know, the joker?

I'd still give it 4/5, but that's mainly for Heath Ledger's incredible performance and not the movie it's in.

They may have changed their minRAB about Dent being dead once they knew they couldn't bring The Joker back. Perhaps there was a different cut of the film that made it explicitly clear that he was dead.

I read Nolan had no plans atm but I'm glad to hear that, however, i still don't think we needed the extra 15 minutes, the setup and backstory was all there before that.

It didn't even feel that long to me. I never get when people complain about film length, if yo uare enjoying it then what's the problem? in fact I didn't get any sense of a drawn out ending in TDK

Saw it this afternoon and thought it was absolutely brilliant and Heath Ledgers performance stunning. !!!

One to definitely see again I think.

Claire, your review of the movie is fantastic,

From what I've read it's 2 hours and 20 minutes (I think:o).

I too didn't have the problem with the timing at all to be honest, if anything it just left me wanting for more but then that's my opinion:).

Well... I think this film will disappoint many expecting something with more 'bang'. The critics are rating it highly, not for the action (which is not that great tbh) But more because it's a psychological thriller.

Batman's mission is greater than having a 'normal' life. Rachel even tells him so. That's Batman.

Harvey was turned by the Joker (with the same speed that Anakin Skywalker was turned by Darth Sidious) Also, he's now Two Face. He can see both sides... being psychotic helps of course! :)

Yep. I've rated it simply for the Joker as well.
That's kind of like the Tim Burton Batman. Batman was boring... Jack Nicholson's Joker was the main event.

Probably not, but if this is going to be the restart of a new long running batman franchise, they'll want to keep their options open, beyond the point when the current people are involved with it anymore. Even if they don't have any intention of doing it, they're not going to do anything to limit their options without a good reason.

Besides, since they're basing it on well respected Batman comics from the 80s like Batman: Year One and Batman: The Man Who Falls, they might someday consider moving on to another well respected Batman graphic novel from the 80s, Batman: The Killing Joke, in which Batgirl was paralyzed.

Batgirl is somehow slightly less ridiculous than Robin. It doesn't have to be the silly Alicia Silverstone version. But all versions of Robin are inherently absurd.

I heard that bit and I also heard the line at the end about agreeing to make Harvey the hero but I was sure I heard them say another line before the finale that indicated they chose Batman to save Harvey and I was wondering if they said Rachel on the way out to bluff the joker?

Definitely neeRAB another viewing and on that point I cant remember the last time I was so hyped up about a film and then enjoyed it so much and then wanted to see it again straight after - is this going to be a modern classic or are we still in the honeymoon period?

Just come home from seeing TDK at the IMAX, and all I can say is WOW, I loved it so much.....the only negative I can possibly think of is Christian Bale, he sounded like he had a cold and a lisp when he "growled" as Batman!!
Loved Heath, thought he was amazingly wonderfull, He is the only baddie I have ever rooted for....the magic trick with the pencil and, the shrimp eating were superb, he had the whole cinema laughing....and at the end clapping. 5/5 for me.

I thought Heath Ledgers performance was good but not worth all the hype that people have been giving it - I thought Christian Bales & Aaaron Eckhart (espeically Bale) were much better

I just wanted to add my twopenneth worth and say that Joker said Harvey was at some really strange numbered street which I can't think how to type on here :O:D when in fact that was where Rachel was. This was proved when Two Faced phoned Gordon, told him that his wife and son was where his family died (meaning Rachel) and then Gordon sent back up to the same street.

Does this make sense? :D

Nice to see I'm not the only one who wants Two-Face back:D.

I have to say I agreed with the guy who Interviewed John Nolan when he said both Heath Ledger and Aaron Eckhart deserve an Oscar Nomination because IMO it was these 2 who truely did steal the whole Movie IMO:). Don't get me wrong the whole Cast were brilliant and they all really carried the whole Film all together but if anyone stood out the most it was definately Aaron Eckhart and Heath Ledger:).
