The Dark Knight #3 - #2 all-time within a month? Not too shabby.

Whoa the thread came back to life. Sorta.

And ahh I see what you're talking about then, but I completely agree. It pulled everything off well (though the Dent/Two-Face development was rather rushed and could've been better for the third movie than this one). But that's really a minor point in the grand scheme of things, I believe.

So I was at Borders today checking out the DVDs section. And Borders had an entire Batman display, with the DVDs of the animated series (which I LOVE) and the first movie. And it just made me long for The Dark Knight. I want that DVD NOW!

Yup. And great job, NateScottLover! :)

 I'd love it to also, but Titanic made like $600.8 million and I don't see The Dark Knight getting more than $550 million domestically.

I wonder if each actor gets a share of the profits. :look: And hopefully, if so, Heath's goes to his daughter.

I really liked how the two storylines worked, too. Before I saw the movie, I was worried that having two villains might have been a bit too much, with one overshadowing the other, but they were balanced perfectly, and both were equally awesome.

:lmao: Not bitter at all, huh? You, my friend, rock

I'm actually really surprised by RDJ's comments, and I know he has a reputation for being...a bit arsey, but I still would've thought he'd be professional regarding his feelings for TDK, no matter how bitter he is that it beat Iron Man. It's just really uncool to come out and say something like that.

One of the things he said that really bugs me (aside from the obvious), is that Iron Man was an origin story, right? Then the article follows on saying "which wasn't the case with The Dark Knight", and he rants about how much was going on in TDK and how complicated it was...well, duh. Batman Begins was the origin story, did you miss that? Of COURSE The Dark Knight had so much more going on, it wasn't going to tell the same story again, was it?! :irked: Gah.

And his whole sarcastic comment about needing a college degree to actually understand the film? Bullfrit. Maybe I'm biased, but TDK wasn't pretentious at ALL, and it was easy-enough to understand. If my 15-year-old sister and cousin, and hell, my 11-year-old sister and cousin can understand it, then maybe there's nothing wrong with the film, but that says something about you, Robert :irked:

Ok, maybe I'm more annoyed by this than I originally thought.

happens to me too! although i also have a older tv. i was trying to watch it one night with my roommate asleep in the next room and i had to constantly switch the volume. it was driving me nuts!

Dude, be careful. I know my friend, listened to sooo many praises about TDK, that when she went in she had so much expectation, and thought it fell short of them. But then she saw that again, and almost cried cause she was so shocked at how awesome it was. I had to beg her literally to go again though.

Well, what can you expect? He is Robert. I like some of his movies but I have to admit - from his track record - well, more like - criminal record (?) - he's not exactly the perfect gentleman so I sort of expected that from him. Well, blows for him because TDK pwned his iron arse.

Awesome! :woot:

And thanks for the news, I can't believe we're really getting a third film. YES! It's gotta be as good as, or better than TDK though, it can't be any less. Otherwise it'll be a huge disappointment.

Could I post these Joker icons I made?

^ Loving the YouTubeness. :D I basically want the movie NOW.

Christopher Nolan interview:

Sure, money talks and all, but Nolan is one of the few directors I actually believe when he says stuff like 'if the story's right.' :look:

And on the bright side, that means all the Cher-as-Catwoman rumors are complete bull. :D

Exactly, the movie was AMAZING, and that's the main thing.

I really hope they'll re-release it here, it would have a better chance of hitting the billion dollar mark if it was released in more than one place, right? Though granted, the US is a big place :P But still!

Some people thought the movie tried to do too many things, which it did, only I thought it did a great job with the story and its themes.

and The Penguin??? and don't know if two-face will appear on the next movie or not..er..i don't believe he is dead that simple or..

Uhhh. Ahhhhnold killed Mr. Freeze for me. Plus Freeze isn't that realistic of a character, unless his origin and story gets altered greatly. :look:

You're right!

I discovered a group of people around here in FF that was hating in the movie. I was a bit shocked.
