The Dark Knight #3 - #2 all-time within a month? Not too shabby.

Yeah take all the rumors with a grain of salt. Crispin Glover was supposedly The Joker until Heath was confirmed.

As for Johnny, I love him as an actor, but somehow this doesn't feel right. As in, I don't really want him in the role mostly because I prefer a younger actor around the same age range as Christian. I've always liked The Riddler portrayed as a scorned/undervalued businessperson who takes revenge on those who wronged him and then eventually goes off the deep end and commits real crime when he finds out how intelligent he really is. And that description to me fits more with a younger Riddler than an older one.

But I trust Nolan's vision and judgment (especially since I've basically loved his work, from Memento to Insomnia to The Prestige and now the Batman series. I'd just much prefer a younger actor. :look:

I know the Oscars don't generally pay attention to this genre (at all!), but I really feel this is an exception. I don't know anyone who saw it and isn't calling it one of the best (if not THE best) movie they've seen all year or longer. It was everything a great movie should be, and I hope they nominate it.

That being said, I understand that the only real "shoe in" for a nomination is Heath. Much deserved.

I haven't seen it, so I just have one question, is Cillian Murphy/ Scarecrow in it? Because I heard something about it before it even premiered, which makes me curious :look:

daym this movie was AWESOME, BabyJ I know what you mean I keep checking on the net everyday to see if there's any word out for the DVD release date yet  sad I know :embarrassment: Does anyone when this is? I'd appreciate the info :flowers:

Awesome! :D The Joker is fantastic, he's so much fun! The first 15 minutes of the movie are truly exciting just watching him running around.

BOOOO! How on earth did Titanic gross so much?! Gah. I really thought there was a chance of TDK beating it but now, not so much :(

What constitutes as an old TV though? Cuz the TV I have at school was bought in 2006. :look:

This may have already been posted here but there are already rumors going around that Johnny Depp would be in the next film as The Riddler. Any thoughts? I'm pretty sure the rumor is full of crap but I thought it was interesting enough to bring over here :)

But see, even those scenes weren't that complicated. I don't get how someone could watch it and not understand what was going on, and I don't even mean to sound snobbish here, I genuinely think that they're kinda self-explanatory and obvious.

This news floors me, completely. I don't even really know what to think, except "PLEASE GOD DON'T LET IT BE TRUE!"

Is the third movie definitely on, then? I haven't read/heard any official sources where Nolan's confirmed that there'll be another movie, and I was losing hope :(

 I think the only part that may be a bit more complex than the rest would be perhaps The Joker's social experiment with the ferries. And maybe the ending with Batman taking the fall for Harvey Dent. But that's just two scenes of a 2.5-hour movie.

And yeah, RDJ apparently totally missed out on the part of TDK being a continuation. You'd think someone would notice that he or she's missing something if he/she hasn't seen BB--if not just by the Rachel/Bruce interaction alone.

And RDJ has a criminal record?! What?! Was it for drugs? (I think I remember hearing something about him and drugs at some point. :look:)

ETA: And for some ungodly reason, Cher's being rumored for the role of Catwoman in the next movie. So much so that even the local news in NYC is talking about it. :look: Please be a sick, sick joke. :(

Edit #2: The anchorwoman said Nolan reportedly wants Cher to portray Catwoman as a vamp in her twilight years. :look: (This Cher rumor comes from an arguably legitimate British tabloid.) And the third movie's due to begin filming next year.

Wouldn't it cost more money to release them in other countries too? And arguably, the producers/studio heads want Oscar consideration, so I imagine the re-release is limited to the U.S. :look:

I'd be rooting for the film to hit $1 billion. Couldn't care less about the Oscars though. It's a comic-superhero movie; let's not forget that that's not the type of genre the old Oscar voters tend to pay attention to.

 Definitely, I mean, after TDK came out, he pretty much refused to say he'd do a third because he didn't have a story for it, and even now, when he's contemplating the idea, the emphasis is on the story. You can tell how important it is to him, so I have no doubt he means it when he says it all depends on the story. He's the only one who could do it justice, anyway.

YAY! *hallelujah chorus*
