The Dark Crystal

Can anyone remeber a film called the The Dark Crystal, it was director by that guy who director Star Wars: Epire Strikes Back.

Well it was an old childhood film i watched when i was younger, i didnt know what it was called untill i saw it on DVD in HMV, so i bought it. it brings so many memories.

The creatuers are so amazing.

A little hit-miss on the audience, (not really a kiRAB film, difficult to put in a genre).

Great design and overall, enjoyable movie.

I have the Dark Crystal. Its a great film but very scary as a child. But then I also found The Black Cauldron spooky too.

By way of correction: Dark Crystal was directed by Irvin Kershner and Frank Oz. Irvin Kirshner (who directed Empire) had nothing to do with it.

It's a beautiful movie. The sequel is currently in production, with the designs once again by Brian Froud and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack/Clone Wars). Entitled "The Power of the Dark Crystal" it will be released in 2008.

Yes this film scared me so much as a kid..especially the black widows, the other baddie things ( i cant remember what they were called but they looked scary) and also the bit when the baddie thing kicks the dog in the never ending pit :-(

These bits terrorised me for years!
