Is anyone else looking forward to seeing this? it comes out on Friday, im hoping to see it at the weekend, being a fan of Owen Wilson and having seen and enjoyed all of Wes' other movies. I've heard good things about this movie from people who have seen it in the US...

I'm looking forward to the weekend already :)

YES! Can't wait. I'm a big Wes Anderson fan! The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore are classics.

My only disappointment with the new film is that Bill Murray isn't in it ;)

Yeah he's in it but only briefly towarRAB the start of the movie, I believe... and I guess I was being a bit naive starting the topic, saying that im hoping to see it at the weekend, I just tried to book tickets at my local cinema for this weekend and it seems to be totally sold out for all the performances! ill have to try again for next weekend, when the dates are available... :( I was starting to get excited about going this weekend. I'm surprised the screenings sold out so quick though, only the other day I checked online and it wasn't listing any screenings, they must have just become available yesterday and I only noticed it last night when I didn't have time to try and book... I try first thing this morning and their all sold out!
Oh well, it proves its popular though, so hopefully they'll keep showing it for a while :)

I managed to get a ticket last night after all that, I think I'd entered my details wrong before...which is good news for me, though I have a family member thats very ill I learnt this morning, so, I still don't know if ill be able to go or not... I just hope their ok, ill catch the film sometime or another.

I was lucky enough to see a preview screening on Tuesday night and I liked it enough to go to see it again tonight. It stanRAB up really well to a second viewing, there is so much detail in it and the music and lanRABcape to enjoy a second time too! :)

RE: Bill Murray I think the bit at the beginning
with him missing the train is him missing the opportunity to be in the film proper :D

I liked Bottle Rocket, Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums but thought The Life Aquatic was poor. The press reviews of Darjeeling have put it in the Life Aquatic bracket rather than up there with Rushmore, so are they right? Is it as good as his earlier work or has Anderson lost the plot?

I just got back from seeing it and I really liked it :) there are some nice shots of the towns and at least one temple in India and the train is kind of beautiful too. There are some of the usually more quirky comedy moments but it had the usual sort of tragedy aspects too... I thought it was done very well and thoroughly enjoyed it myself. There again, I very much enjoyed Life Aquatic, so I guess I can't judge for you Inkblot. It isn't really the same kind of movie... I thought it was quite well done, though don't expect any kind of a big ending, its very open ended, which I guess is true of his other movies(?)

I enjoyed it but I'm not sure what I got out of it.....

Natalie Portman's bare backside in the first part in France was a good start...did anyone else think that Adrien Brody running for the train looked like Peter Coruch with his skinny legs ?....:D

I thought it was pretty good, although not amazing. However, I did think that Hotel Chevalier was superb. I can't believe that they originally didn't show it in the US.

I loved it, although it's not as good as Rushmore or The Royal Tenenbaums. I think this is a film Anderson fanatics will love, but others probably won't!

I just love Anderson's style. And the soundtrack again, was lovely.

i hated it :(

his films have gradually got worse and worse. yet more eccentric families with estranged parents... they are so cold and uninvolving too

bottle rocket and rushmore were great - the last 3 all pretty dreadful.

at least it has got mixed reviews

Just got round to watching this, and I loved it.

A highly original, touching, funny, different film.

Having travelled through India in a similar way I was able to appreciate every little detail. Owen Wilson is always so watchable.

9 Out of 10
