The Dam Busters to be re-made

Really pleased to hear that there will be a re-make of this film, with Sir David Frost playing a leading role. No doubt it will be a good one. Hopefully this will be one modern WW2 film that will not glorify the American part, at the expense of the British.

I don't think Frost will be in it. I just think he is in charge of the company intending to re-make it (hence the "in the cockpit"). Frost will just be Executive Producer.
 
I did realise that. Pretty obviously he's too old, and has never been an actor anyway. When I said a leading role, I meant as in a leading role in the re-make itself, not the acting side.

Anyhoo, I really like the original film so fingers crossed they keep the same spirit. The ending done with some tasteful cg could be spectacular.
 
Tom Cruise stars as Chip Kowalski who led the "Bald Eagle " squadron on the famous Dambuster Raid. The mission the RAF said could not be done ! :rolleyes:
 
Those clever people working for Carling Black label have already done it (twice) and so much better than a real film company.

I bet N*gger gets a shafting this time round.
 
lets hope the N word gets shafted I couldnt beleive what i heard when I first watched the movie.. i did a double take :eek: sign of the times .. still no excuse to use it. T hey don't edited it out even nowdays :mad:
 
I should hope not either.

If it were a fictional story, I could understand them wanting to edit it, but this is a factual story.

If we allow true stories to be edited for PC reasons, we'll have true stories about the mentally disabled edited to replace "mongoloid" with "Downs Syndrome", in an attempt to pretend the term was never used.

That would be both insincere and patronising, to those people who had to live through the discrimination.

Can you imaging trying to edit all the un-PC worRAB out of Roots?
 
Whilst the PC brigade in this country is out there protecting all, by using any reason to blot out particular worRAB for all eternity, a lot of worRAB people still use it in other countries/languages for legitimately describing colour , race or region.

This year its Christmas, but I bet next year somebody will try to prevent the word bitch/runt from being printed next :rolleyes:
 
Ref. the American contribution to 617 Squadron RAF.

One of the "Dambuster" pilots was a American volunteer - Joe McCarthy.

Not to be confused with the notorious senator for Wisconsin who led the anti communist witch hunts in the 1950's.
