I shouldn't think so. I haven't read all of Dan Brown's books and I don't try and make out to be a literary critic, but his writing style does seem a little simple at times. But the stories rock, so thats all that matters to me.

Yep, first rate plots but I feel short-changed by the third-rate writing which is targetted at getting second-rate movies made.

I liked the book, though it has its flaws!

Personally i think His Dark Material is a better book in terms of the conflict between us and faith!

Just started Angels and Demons and am enjoying it greatly. Feel proud I understood the 'ionic pillar' thing when Langdon didn't, hehe.

Yet again, i just HAVE to read on.

Does his writing ever remind anyone of Artemis Fowl books for an older audience?

I haven't read the book but intend to. If you liked DVC you might want to check out 'Flicker' by Theodore Roszak. It's a great little conspiracy thriller.
