The Da Vinci Code - who will watch it?

I'll definitely be seeing it, can't wait as I loved the book. Think it'll be a huge hit, there are several factors in it's favour:

The huge following the book has.

Tom Hanks, most people agree he never makes a bad film (although Ladykillers was pushing it.)

Audrey Tatou who is one of the best actresses around, nice to see her get a huge mainstream part.

The hype, the church are urging people to boycott the movie so, inevitably those who haven't read the book will go to see what the fuss is about, will the church ever learn? Look at the fuss made about Brokeback Mountain and the huge hit it is :D

Not interested in the slightest-the whole thing is a cheap shot at the soft target that is Christianity.Hollywood wouldn't dare to make a film that slagged off Islam to the same degree as this Da Vinci BS( whom ,BTW, was a devout Catholic.)

i agree ive read the two books and i thin from the tralior of the film to the book ive read is quite different but i lobe jean reno as an actor not gay btw :P

Will probably wait until it comes out on DVD, but want to see it because they filmed some of it near me, want to see if I can recognise anywhere lol.

I like how the Church wants people to boycott the movie, how original... When will they EVER realise that in doing this it immediately makes the movie more attractive?? And considering they think The Da Vinci Code is a load of fictional crap, why should they care whether people see it or not? Is it because they know that Dan Brown's fiction is better than their fiction?

Have booked our seats for Saturday evening showing at my local Odean, read the book and 2 other Dan Brown books, just Angels & Demons left until his new novel next year I think.

I am now thinking about boycotting my local church in support of Dan Brown and his book!!!!

Well I attended a Christening at the church on Sunday and the so called vicar spent a good 10 minutes slagging of Dan Brown's novel as a work of fiction full of lies and fantasies. Can't see where this sermon fitted into a Christening Ceremony, did not contibute to the collection and I wasn't the only to do that as a result as I found out afterwarRAB.

not going to bother until it's on TV - read the book and wasn't impressed with it - I think they'll be hard pressed to make a decent film out of it

I can't wait to watch the film! So great to see a story recognising the power of women, and getting all worked up about how the catholic church conspired to downplay our place in the world. Maybe.

Is Ruth Kelly really in Opus Dei? Can't see her with one of those thorny garters?
