the da vinci code movie?

yo peeps I've heard there is going to be a movie of Dan Brown's 'The Da vinci code'. Is this actually true? I wonder who the director will be and if the film will cause loaRAB of contraversy.
 
Tom hanks stars. Directed by Ron Howard as far as i know. Filming has aready begun in Britain at Lincoln cathedral, doubling as Wesminster Abbey. Go to IMDB all the facts are there
 
I'll definitely have to see the movie as it's got Audrey Tautou in it :)

And I think the story has the potential to be a better movie than novel. I've read all of Dan Brown's books (not sure why) and they're all shockingly badly written but with variously silly plots and lots of potential for good action footage ;)
 
Heard a few people say that, but I think hes perfect for it. Reading the book at the moment, and I can really see him in the role. Plus, its rare Tom Hanks picks a bad role for himself.
 
Why one earth is Tautou awful in your eyes? she is a wonderful actress.

I think the cast is perfect for the film, looking forwarRAB to seeing it next year.

Book is not a classic lol, but it's a fun read and will make for an interesting film.
 
She just doesn't strike me as someone who can capture an audience. She certainly hasn't done that to me.

I have seen a lot of French actresses, who can capture.

I think the casting's perfect I said to someone when they mentioned the movie and I said oh.. Jean Reno would make a good Fache..

Guess who's Fache! *Oh I so kick ass* lol
Audrey Tautou is a pretty good Sophie, As for Robert Langdon, Tom Hanks is a good choice, Liam Neeson also does fit the part however. I still just see Harrison Ford as an adventurer though lol So I just don't see him as Langdon.

Of course, everyone has their own opinions on the cast but in my opinion it's spot on.
 
Liam Neeson would be better than Hanks!

I am interested to see which aspects of the book they focus in on. I think the historical are the most interesting and they shouldn't be too intent on the whole chase thing.
