I finally got caught up with all of the episodes, so now I was able to watch a new episode of 5D's once again. I felt bad seeing Dark Carly again, especially since I liked her so much when the season first started. I was surprised to hear that they finally gave a name to the event that lead to the creation of the Satellite, Zero Reverse, which I believe was also the term in the Japanese version. I also liked how everyone learned that Yusei technically isn't a Satellite. I loved Trudge's reaction to Jack's anger when he said he was from the Satellite.
It was nice to see Martha again since she really has this kind of motherly-figure feeling to her. I totally loved that whole prince routine that Jack did. It was so darn cute that I couldn't help laughing at it too. Trudge's obvious connection to Mina was also kind of cute. So that smoke apparently took everyone else in the Satellite away, but at least Yusei feels strong enough to take on the Dark Signers. I was surprised that Jack said that he wasn't Yusei's friend. I thought that they were kind of frienRAB, in a rivalry kind of way, he did want to go back to the Satellite to make amenRAB and he was obviously concerned for Yusei's safety during his duel with Kalin.
Trudge's fantasy with Mina was cute, yet funny at the same time since I kept on thinking of Dan Green's work as Atem during that scene. It was surprising how Mina just kind of spilled her feelings for Jack right out in the open since she usually appears kind of nervous around him. I did love how Jack was worried about Carly and blamed what happen to her on himself. I thought that was really sweet. Too bad Trudge felt bad about Mina liking Jack now. At least that did allow us to see that there actually are nice Security people who helped Taka in the past. The dinner scene was kind of nice too with Yusei telling the kiRAB that they could hopefully grow up to be whatever they wanted to be after the Dark Signers are defeated.
I didn't think that the leader of the Dark Signers would come after them. I thought that they would save that for the end of the arc. I didn't understand why Akiza wanted to go along with Yusei, but I just went with it. Too bad that those three boys left too since that's just trouble waiting to happen. The duel had a pretty interesting start. I thought that Yusei had a pretty decent defense since it would have taken two or three attacks to destroy his monster. I didn't think that Roman would play a Synchro Monster on his first turn or that Yusei would lose over half of his life points that fast. I thought that Yusei made a pretty nice comeback though with his own new Synchro Monster. It did give him an edge for awhile until Roman played that trap card. Those kiRAB were also getting themselves into danger, thus another thing for Yusei to worry about.
Overall, it was a fun episode. It was nice to see some cute and funny moments before they started the duel, which I'm sure will be more intense as it continues. I'm really looking foreword to next week's episode.
