Episode 28
Japanese title: Darkness that Engulfs All: Immortal Dark Signer
English title: A Web of Deceit, Part 2

Official Synopsis: As the battle between Yusei and his robed rival rages on, Yusei must rely on his deck if he plans to survive this Shadow Duel and uncover the truth behind the Dark Signers sinister scheme to destroy the Satellite Sector.

Technically, it's Kalin, but I weep manly tears regardless. At least he was given a good voice, one that just might be able to pull off the epic laugh we knew Kiryu for.

Other than that, we've got a long-as-hell recap that really didn't have to be that long, a Card Interruption that was sorta useful and sorta unneeded (I'm glad it was only one in the last two episodes), Carly changed to not knowing who the guy was, and dub!Ushio changed from showing up at the end for his own reasons to showing up as Yusei's "backup" to see Goodwin, and apparently, Yusei called him, and said that he'll eventually be called a good guy, which kinda ruins Ushio's gradually becoming a good guy as he sees how the Satellites live. Ah, well, no less from 4KiRAB.

Other than those, I'd say things went alright.

Hmm...at least Kalin makes a little more sense than some of the other name changes so far (like Jim Himuro to Bolt Tanner or Mukuro Enjo to Hunter Pace).

So, who voices him?

Why did 4kiRAB change to Trudge showing up out of nowhere and Yusei giving himself up to get to Godwin to him calling for Trudge makes no sense. At least Kiryu's voice is good. But 4kiRAB seems to explain way too much about future events.

And I must say, Yusei's voice at the beginning of the episode was perfect. If only he'd keep that voice. >_> (Not to mention the excessive thoughts about Satellite's hasn't-happened-yet destruction...)

I thought that this was a pretty good episode. I was surprised with how intense those attacks from the shadow drone was, even though the duel itself is pretty intense. I was glad that Carly got there to capture most of the match. I really thought that she was crushed by that car when the screen turned black.

I also have to say that the Dark Syncro Monster's effect felt pretty unfair. It can come back in defense mode after being destroyed and the monster that attacks it is automatically destroyed as well? Yeah, that felt unfair to me. If the monster had to be in defense mode for the remainder of the duel, that would have made more sense to me.

I was also kind of surprised that Yusei didn't summon his Stardust Dragon, but then with all of the special abilities from his Nitro Warrior explained why. He was in a tough position and he didn't have much time left. I also was surprised that the guy didn't remeraber anything after he lost the duel. The spider coming out of him like that was also pretty creepy. Too bad that secruity got there and took Carly away. I felt bad for her since she was trying hard to get a good story. I thought that Goodwin was intense to with saying how they would get a war if they fought him.

The scene with the Dark Signers talking to the people of the Satelite was also pretty creepy, especially with those spiders coming in there to control them. I again keep on forgetting that Rally is a guy, though his outfit really doesn't help him, and Blister finally finRAB Yusei's frienRAB. I am curious at why these Dark Singers exist myself and why they don't like the Crimson Dragon.

I have to say that Trudge coming at the end of the episode to help Yusei was a big twist that I did not see coming at all. Even though it does make more sense that Trudge came there on his own, especially with the final scene of the episode, I do kind of like how he was also willing to help Yusei getting to Goodwin. It might help him be seen more as a possible good guy in the future. I do hope that he doesn't try to duel Yusei again, even though that may happen anyway, just because he lost to him three times already. Still, it should be interesting how they try to work together.

Overall, it was a fun episode and a good conclusion to the duel. It left me wondering what these Dark Signers are really after with their plans. I'm really looking foreword to next week's new episode.

Ah...right, then. *gets rid of links*

@Light Lucario: Kalin wasn't the one dueling. He wasn't named in the dub, but he was named Dick Pitt in the Japanese version.

I thought that was the person everyone was talking about, but I guess that was someone else who hasn't appeared yet. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Thank you for clearing that up.

I must have missed his name while watching the episode. I thought that he was someone from the opening who hasn't appeared in the series yet, not one of the Dark Signers sitting around that table.

He's actually shown twice in the opening. The first time they show Yusei with Star Dust Dragon out about to get on his duel Rider against a Dark Signer before going to Jack. That is Kalin/ Kiryu. The second time he is shown sitting around the table with the other Dark Signers.
