The CW4Kids Talkback: TMNT Top 10 (Spoilers)

Well duh... It's an indie comic through and through and will only have a relatively small dedicated following for the entirety of it's lifespan but you never know what the future might hold for the brand. Some turtles fan might decide to revive it some day.

I see no reason to be pessimistic about it.

The fact that they want to do a revival movie more than says someone still thinks TMNT works and there will probably always be someone like that.

TMNT, Power Rangers and Pokemon all had their highest success in their original television incarnations and no amount of retooling and rebranding and revamping is going to get any of them back to that level of popularity but IMO that doesn't really matter. I mean if Biker Mice from Mars can some how get another cartoon years after it's last attempt... I really don't believe TMNT wont get another generation or two but all good things must come to an end eventually. If this is the end for TMNT? Again, I'm not too dissappointed. I've got plenty of great cartoons, toys, video games, comics and movies out of it. I'm just glad its ending on a good note... cause ending as it did in 1996 or *shudders* with Next Mutation just wouldn't be good enough for TMNT but ending with the TMNT 2003 cartoon certainly is.

Wow, it's pretty surreal to read that whole recent conversation now that things have changed so much.

Somehow I haven't gotten around to watching that season 5 yet, so anyone think it's top 10 material? Myself, I'm hoping for the ep where Leo enters Usagi's world, or conversely and less likely, the ep Usagi and Gin go to NY (with Gin's fan-tastic Rocksteady get-up).

Myself, I'll say this: SAINW is the only episode on the countdown thus far that's better than Enter The Dragons. I really liked the fifth season. There basically wasn't any filler episodes since it was only 12 episodes.

If you've seen seasons 1-4, but not 5, you really need to watch those twelve episodes. Everything that happens in the first 4 seasons leads up to what takes place in those 12 episodes. So it's really to your benefit to find out what happens.

There has to be a Donnie based ep on the list. There's 3 choices to pick from.

"The King" from Season 1 where he meets Jack Kirby
"Same As It Never Was" from Season 3 with the Shredder-dominated Earth
"The Trouble With Augie" from Season 4

I'm hoping it's the 2nd one because of how dark it is compared to others with all the deaths mentioned or taking place in it.

I was surprised that there was a fifth season episode on this list. Considering that they aired that season before the countdown, I thought that none of those episodes would be on the list. While I think Enter the Dragon Part One is a good episode and it is a better choice than some of the other episodes on this list, I would have gone with the second part instead. It does give a great conclusion to the fight with the Demon Shredder that the whole season had been working towards and it was a really awesome way to end the season too.

Still, I thought that this episode kind of worked since there is the team up with all of the heroes and villains to take down the Demon Shredder.

So far there's no episode for Seasons 2 or 4. Season 2 had 5 multi-part episodes (Turtles in Space, Secret Origins, City at War, Rogue in the House, and Big Brawl). For Season 4, only two, although I don't think one of them will appear. If there is a Season 4 ep on the list, it should either be Grudge Match, Scion of the Shredder, or Prodigal Son.

That's a good point. Even though they have all of those episodes on their website, I think most kids pay more attention to what's on television than what they can watch online.

I actually like Super Quest since its a fun episode and one of my favorite episodes of BttS. However, I agree that it really isn't top ten material either. Still, at least it isn't a horrible episode.

Well, here's the peril of letting an online vote decide this. Could have been worse, though, it could have been Sons of the Silent Age

A stinker like this being in the top ten does have the unfortunate effect of having one lose a bit of faith in this whole thing. But really, it's all about getting to Turtles Forever at the end of the rainbow :p

I wonder if the multi-parters end up splitting votes. I mean, say a three-parter gets some votes for the first part, some for the second, and some for the third, and collectively it would have enough votes to get on the top ten, but separately that means none of them make it. I could see that being a factor.

I doubt Insane in the Membrane would be shown because of how "disturbing" it is. Yes, it's more disturbing then all the good horror movies. Anyway, here's the updated list.

If junklantus (IMO the worst episode of the whole series including fast Forward episodes) makes the list I will snap.

As for Fast Forward episodes the only one that I believe should make the list is "Timing is everything" the only FF episode on my top ten list.

Agreed. I wasn't a huge fan of the first half or so of the episodes of the first season. It seems like a lot of the cartoons that I like needed to get through at least a half a season to a full season until they got really good.

Best part of super quest was the ending. I SO didn't expect it, I was laughing for the rest of the day. It's rare to surprise me with a TV show plot, but they did a good job with that one.

But this is why I voted for my favorites that are NOT on DVD yet. Mostly Season 3 and 4 eps. The show looks so much better on the HDTV feed I Want to get as many as possible before they decide to stop showing it.

Will you guys stop picking apart this list every time a new episode is shown?

Its a list probably decided by little kids or 4kids reps, its not some "definitive list" or anything.

We've all watched these eps many times, who cares what order they air on 4kids? 4kids losing the rerun rights to TMNT by August 2010, let them air whatever they want in the meantime.
