They’re raucously round! Crazily cute! Fantastically funny! Meet the GOGORIKI - a circle of best friends whose zany adventures always result in loads of laughs!

This is not your typical cartoon series… not by a long shot. GOGORIKI is a high-energy comedy adventure starring eight decidedly distinct personalities that are always having a ball! The characters share a basic circle shape, but there the outward similarities end. They each have the trait of a different animal-type. They are each a different color. They have different interests and temperaments. They are of different generations and come from different places. Despite all of their differences, the GOGORIKI always come together to laugh, learn about life and solve seemingly insurmountable problems in ways that are creative, unexpected and amazingly fun. Their distinctive personalities combine to ensure that each hysterical situation is filled with crazy antics, madcap mishaps and non-stop laughs.

These unique characters do have one thing in common: they all share a core set of positive values and ideals: tolerance, respect for each other and the environment, friendship, loyalty, compassion, and peace… that makes the world of GOGORIKI one without violence or cruelty. So it’s a safe bet for everyone from teens, tweens, adults – and, of course... kids of all ages!

So GO for comedy – GO for adventure - GO for characters the whole family will love. GO for GOGORIKI!

On an interesting side note: this is the first Russian animated series to EVER air in the United States.

As far as obligatory E/I goes it's not bad at all. It looked like there was some decent effort put into the localization, and kudos for leaving in the Cyrllic (at least I'm assuming that was actually Russian writing). Voices sounded good - most of them were a little too familiar but that's always the case.

I doubt I'll keep up with it all that much since it seems to be aimed a bit too young for me but I thought it was a good first outing. I always thought 4Kids should focus on comedy series more than they do now, since they generally do a good job with them, like Viva Pinata.

One thing I did like was that the English-language voices did closely match the speaking style of the original Russian voices

It was actually more fun to watch than I originally thought. It was pretty cute, the voices worked nicely and I got a couple of laughs with the commercial bit and the teleagraph segment. Overall, a cute show to watch for the heck of it.

Also: Regarding the theme song: The folks at Pillsbury/General Mills should sue the US dub production of GOGORIKI because the "O-O-O" in the theme is similar to the Jolly Green Giant's "HO HO HO" trademark.

Lol.

This show is amusing. It's aimed young enough to cater towards preschoolers, yet at the same time, it has subtle humor that older audiences can pick up on. It's basically the Looney Tunes of Russia.

I really hope they show the two-part soccer game episodes and "-41 ?C.", because I've seen the Russian originals and they were very funny even untranslated. :anime:

A new episode of GoGoRiki (aka Smeshariki) airs today on the CW4Kids. Here are today's segments:

Extra! Extra! / Magnetism / Treasure Hunt

And if you missed last week's episodes, you can now catch it online at 4Kidstv.com.

So, the show seems to be pretty decent. I think they kinda phoned in the casting for the most part, but I have no problems with the VAs' performances.

Here's a "fun" fact: at the end of today's episode, they had one of 4Kids' music videos they sometimes do for IE shows, and guess what it was? "Need for Speed", from the 5Ds contest, modified for GGR. And I didn't think it was possible, but they made the song even lamer than it had already been...

I knew that they had a little video at the end of the episode, but I didn't think that it was a modified version of "Need for Speed." I wasn't paying too much attention to the song at that point.

Anyway, these segments were really cute. My favorites were Extra! Extra! and Magnetism. The newspaper story had some good laughs with how newspapers want to grab people's attention and it had kind of a The Boy who Cried Wolf in the mix too. Magnetism was just kind of cute and funny with explaining how a magnet works.

I said the exact same thing when I first saw the show:sweat: The animation is virtually identical...

Anywho, maybe my expectations for this show were just a bit too high...

The show is surprising smart, but I don't like it.

I found it boring and not to mention, I don't really like cartoons were there's a cast of six to ten characters, but they very rarely add new ones or even have one shot charachers. (Like Frank Grimes off the Simpsons) And it's basically limited because you see the same people every episode. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's what it seems like to me.

But, it's a change to have other countries besides Japan have toons over here. But, as for me, I'm not "Russian" to see more of GoGoRiki.

Mind if I bump this thread?

I've been enjoying the series so far. I noticed, sometimes, they beat you over the head with the message, but other times, it's more subtle.

Second time Jason Griffith voices a hedgehog :D

I may get a character list soon.
