Anyone know if/when T-Mobile US will be getting the Curve? I have Tmo and like the service - But damn if it doesn't seem that Cingular/ATT always gets the latest and best products...Thanks
 
I'm sure they'll get it right after the 90 day at&t exclusive expires. T-Mobile Germany either has it or is getting it real soon (there's a post on this somewhere on this site). You can alway buy an unlocked one if you can't wait.

Part of the reason Cingular/ATT get phones before Tmobile is that TMO scrutinizes the phones more than others. They BETA test phones for a long time b/f they decide to pick it up. Been that way ever since the Motorola Peanut phone fiasco.

Then why did TMO have the 90 day exclusive on the pearl? I really doubt that TMO tests BBs any more or less that any other carrier. Both Cingular/AT&T and TMO released the 7130 and 8800 at approximately the same time.

And TMO is usually faster on the OS upgrades than the others from what I've seen, indicating less testing.

I believe it's more of who will pay RIM more for the exclusivity period than who tests more.

TMO beta testers had the pearl at least a month before launch. I am not saying it happens all the time but the majority of the time TMO is cautious on launching new phones. I hate to use the example but the RAZR, Motorola took it to TMO first and they told them to fix the bugs. MOTO said no and took it to Cingular. The black razr was one of the worst versions for bug the razr has had.After those bugs were fixed, not to say that there were not others such as crummy reception, TMo picked up the following version.
