The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I found this film to be very similar in tone to Forrest Gump (But not HALF as irritating- I just cant take to FG). It was a brilliant film. Very moving and if anything I found the women Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett more effective than Brad Pitt...

His Makeup when he was in his 20's was WEIRD! No wonder the scene was shot in half darkness! It was blindingly obvious when he hit his "natural" age IMO...

Nice to see Brad in something with real emotional resonance and depth- I havent seen him in anything this good for a few years...

IMO- Id like the best actor Oscar go to Micky Rourke and the Best Fim go to Benjamin Button..

Great film. Anyone else seen it? Very long but very well made. Brad Pitt was really good, as was Cate Blanchett.

Only quibble was that it was slow in the middle section.

It's a really good film, just got back from seeing it. I do agree it does go a little flat in the middle and I would have preferred to see it on DVD rather than the cinema, however it is still a great film.

My only crit about this film and it's a question really, why is it Brad Pitt's character felt he could no longer be a father to his child? By our calcuation he had at least another 25 years ahead of him where he could have performed the role adequately enough.

Theres a flaw in the plot there... he says he has to go as she'd end up bringing both of them up, but as U say by the time he'd be appraoching childhood his kid would be an adult...

Also she DOES end up looking after him as a child, so his reason for leaving is totally invalidated!

It was pretty good, but a bit melancholy due to the subject matter. I'm usually not one to complain about a film's length, but in this case it really could have been half an hour shorter without losing much.

I was really looking foward to this as I'm a big fan of David Fincher.

Then I read it was almost 3 hours long.......So that would be the only thing stopping me from seeing it at the cinema, so I may wait for dvd.

Empire gave it 5 stars. Oscars anyone?

Really not sure about the film - I think the over riding thing for me was the emotional pay off - not sure it was there for me!
Thought Brad was good - very good to carry the whole film.
Very Forrest Gump like in tone - although I much prefered Forrest Gump!
Beautifully shot but somewhat lacking for me!

Oh nooooo almost three hours??

You should probably wait until it's on Youtube so you can watch it in 10 minute bursts.

Think you could handle that?

This film is a good 45 minutes too long, but it also enRAB far too quickly. His last 20 years seem to go in 5 minutes.

The CGI was convincing for most of the time and in fact it seemed as if this film was created purely so the artists could show off their abilities with the mouse instead of creating a story that produced any sort of emotion towarRAB the characters.

Normally I avoid any sort of sentimental story in a public cinema to avoid having to get the tissues out, but there was so little emotion felt towarRAB the characters that there wasn't even a sniff or a tear in the house when certain expected 'gulp' moments happened.

Disappointed for a film I'd been looking forward to for ages. 6/10
(Slumdog & Frost are better)

I've seen it. I thought it was a really good movie. Though i do believe the length of the film was prolonged. As parts of the film lacked storytelling and momentum.

Not a bad film but very overated , my favourite actor in it was Jared Harris as Captain Mike , I thought he was fantastic in it and I hope he gets some good film roles from it's success.

I saw this at the weekend and agree it did start to feel like a long fim at times and they could easily have cut it down a bit. I also came out thinking how it was like Forest Gump too.

Whilst I thought it was a good film, I did find it disappointing in parts, I didn't really get the 'romance' and I didn't feel any emotions for them other than irritations at times.

I was slightly disappointed, but I still thought it was a good film and I didn't regret seeing it
