They had a snow shovel for the balls!
Other interesting facts:
- McFarlane's voice wasn't heard at all - when the contestant is shown the game they wheel in a plasma TV and the voiceover was a woman. There was *no* music at all, the only sound effect was when the cube went red or green.
- The contestant had a 5-10 min talk with somebody while each game was being set up. The had a clipboard which I assume had the detailed rules, I think they had to sign it each time but I can't remember for sure. The contestants did still ask quite a few questions before the games and during the attempts, I assume nearly all of this will be cut. There was quite a lot of innuendo at my recording, which I assume will be cut, I forget the context but it was a running joke and helped keep the audience in a good mood.
- The Cube had a game setup mode where the floor lit up with the positions of each item that had to be placed.
- They had five cameras. Two fixed ones positioned up in the audience about in line with the forward edge of the cube, one on a floor on a small jib, one on the studio floor, and the large Technocrane. Both cameras on the studio floor were moved to the rear of the cube during each game.
Crappy phone pic of the "Gamefreeze" effect as they call it:
