The Crow

Any fans of the infamous movie where Brandon Lee was accidentally (or not) shot dead?

I rewatched it last night on old video and its still as classic as ever, a real 90s goth classic.

My favourite film of all time, it quite rightly has a cult following. Just a shame it is getting the current Hollywood treatment of "remake everything".

I'm a big fan of the Crow. But not the orginal movie starring Brandon Lee. I've tried watching it a few times and just can't get into it.

Love this film. I think it would have most certainly improved Brandon Lee's career if he was still alive today.

Would love to see a director's cut or special edition with Skull Cowboy reinstated in the film as all his scenes were filmed then cut.

The sequels and TV series were however questionable.

I loved the original, but the ones made without Brandon Lee were simply not in the same class. I always suspected that it would have been a huge franchise if he hadn't died.

Even if Brandon Lee hadn't died, the first film would still have ended with Eric Draven's return to the grave. That was always part of the script.

It would have been a bit rubbish if the sequels had Eric rising from the grave repeatedly to right some other previously unmentioned wrongs.

Personally, I find it much easier to ignore bad sequels which don't feature members of the original cast. The Crow sequels can be dismissed as nothing more than cheap cash-ins, while cast/crew reunions such as The Matrix sequels seem like much more of a betrayal to me.

Exactly. iirc I read reviews of Crow 2 talking about how this new guy had replaced Brandon as the Crow, which kinda demonstrated the reviewer completely misunderstood the whole [fill in appropriate word here] of the Crow mythology.

Didn't have a problem with Crow 2, but maybe that was cos I was kinda "out of my head" whilst watching it, full of vivid images iirc. :)

As for Matrix. Some people didn't like No2 with all its wordyness. But for me had the ptb used No3 to reveal it was all a matrix within a matrix (which was what No2 was saying), and NOT shafted us with that godawful open ending (sole reason so they could earn millions with that online game), well that No3 could have easily turned around peoples -ve towarRAB No2 and given us the ending that the series deserved.

Well 2 of them were bad but I seem too have loved Sulvation but other I meeted hated it.I thought it was the only one that came closest too the first but again I think there was a sort of culture thing, going on.And that made the first one taylor made for that time after people were feed up with perdomident Hollywood look who talking garbage style films.

The original is one of my fave film, and the sequel was not all bad, but not up to the greatness of the original.

All the others after that though have been abysmal.

Again it might be a good thing that they are revamping The Crow again. If Hollywood could do the same for Batman it might just start a new Crow fanbase but will it be good slightly.
