The Critic - Reelz Airings Talkback

Franklin: (Dressed as Mrs. Doubtifre) I'm sorry, dear, I only did it so I could see the children.

Eleanor: But you can see them anytime.

Franklin: Well, who wants to do that?

I miss this show so much. It's time to break out the DVDs again so I can watch this show from the beginning.
 
A great prime-time show that wasn't given enough due, even after switching channels in 2nd season (would have switched three times if the move to UPN worked out).

I discovered this show on Comedy Central when they were rerunning it. Wish they still kept running it.
 
Another funny Frank moment: Jay's speaking on TV, and Frank puts his foot on the TV. "Look! His nose is as big as my foot! Isn't that amazing?" :D

Also can't forget the Home Improvement parody when he keeps repeating what he said because there's an owl next door who keeps saying "Who?"

So what's everyone's favorite episode? I like "L.A. Jay", a great satire on Hollywood in general. The ending, where Jay chases the producer to ask him what he thought of his script (only to be in denial when the producer is finally honest and says he hates it) is gold.
 
'L.A. Jay" is one of my favorites, too. The relentless mocking of Hollywood is great. But, my favorite is probably 'All The Duke's Men' when Duke runs for president. It has the best Duke lines in it.

Duke: I need you to write me a new speech; the Guam primary is next week.
Jay: Well, besides wanting to win, what exactly do you want to do for these people?
Duke: Hell, I don't even know what to call them. Guambats? The Guamish? Guammy bears?

Off the scale.
 
Gotta go with the season 1 finale (forget the name), where Jay adopts the puppy and his mother starts writing the children's books with 'The Fat Little Pig' who looks strikingly like Jay.

Fat Little Pig: (In Jon Lovitz's voice and Jay's tradmark sweater) Mother, I'm dropping out law school to become a film critic.

Mother Goose (In Elenaor's voice): How terrible. Just rip out my heart and whip it into a scrumptious patte'.

Fat Little Pig: Don't mind if I do!

(Goose bites his snout)
 
As uneven as this show was, I still watched it...

Most amusing episodes were "LA Jay" (the part where he urges street gangs to attack the film's producers was hilarious), and the flashback to the original Gulf War...
