The Cricket Thread

I would like to see cricKet have its own forum on here. I mean, after all, amp'd and Virgin have there own.

I live in Dayton, Ohio and see that they are getting ready to link up Cincinnati with us. Toledo and Cleveland already are in and wonder how long it will be before Colurabus is included.

It would be nice to be able to travel into the out of state cricKet markets and not have to have "Travel Time" activated.

Can't email directly, but you could send to somone you know that has a wireless carrier that does have email and have them forward them on to your email. Or with a data cable and software they can easilly be downloaded to your PC. There are a nuraber of software and cable packages both 3rd party and from Audiovox. Also is free software, Just do a search for "Audiovox data cable".

Yes they are outside the cricket network. Same problem from verizon, cingular and sprint.

What's really frustrating is I can't tell who it's from unless they list a callback nuraber separately. It might be a problem with the network in this area.

I don't know.

Cricket does use their own spectrum. For some unknown reason though, Cricket pulled out of Michigan and sold off their customer base & spectrum
(both built and unbuilt) to Verizon Wireless. There were other areas Cricket was supposed to expand, but either didn't have the money, or saw no long-term potential in the markets they had licenses for. The only market area Verizon added to Michigan was the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area, and Benton Harbor/New Buffalo, which technically are part of the South Bend market, got added, which wasn't built out under Cricket, at least outside of the immediate areas of Kalamazoo/Battle Creek. The rest of the state, they added coverage where they didn't have before, and added additional coverage to areas they alreasy serve. Who knows how Cricket will do if they were to become a national carrier. I don't see it happening, but if they can build out their network in areas they have licenses, they might become a national carrier. But either Alltel or USCC might try to acquire them later on.

With Cricket, You can text message, or picture message anyone in the United States. Im not sure about International texting but I am positive about the Nationwide texting because I have no problem texting my father who lives in New Hampshire, while Im in El Paso.
