the Court sent me a letter telling me it is gonna take money out of my account......

...please help what to do? my friend called me today telling me a story that she joined a gym and signed a contract with them 2 years ago, paying $40 a month, anyways she did it the first months, and she quit going there so she didn't make any payments no more, now the court is sending me a letter telling me i have to pay them the amount of $1500 or they gonna take it from my account with out even my permission.. i didn't know they will add it up and ask me to pay all this amount.. now it is this fitness against me, and the attorney against my lawyer... is there an advice that i can get solving this problem, do i really have to pay it?? is it the only way?? or i can get waived from that.. or even pay it in payments..
please help me with this?? what should i do???
i am talking on behalf of my friend, so when i say take from my account, it means she is talking.. thanks
 
Sorry but you're not making any sense. You say your friend signed up with a gym and then say the court is going to ransack YOUR account? That makes no sense. Did you cosign for your friend?
