The computer I'm building doesn't seem to be getting power to it's fans?

I'm building a computer here, I only have a basic conseption of what I'm doing, but I got my CPU, Graphics, everything but the disc drive and harddrive. Everything I got from the internet and the motherboards instructions said to plug the fans into the motherboard, but only the fans that came with the motherboard (CPU fan etc) did that, the rest had cords that plugged into the power cords comming from the power supply, with each fan's cord having an input and output, so you can make a chain, which I did, when I plugged it in, only an LED on the motherboard came on, not even the fan for the power supply came on. I'm more nervious than John Macain in a Vietnamese resterant that I broke something.

If you're going to make political jokes, at least spell their names right...

Anyhow, I'd recommend un-daisy chaining your fans. That input and output is certainly for daisy chaining, but your PSU may not be able to supply the minimum voltage to all the fans. Separating them (or at least only connecting 1-2 per molex auxillary [4 pin] terminal), will probably give the fans all the juice they need.

EDIT: It seems I misread that. This happens with your PSU turned on but not your PC? The light on the motherboard means the board is getting power, but the fans won't come on until you hit the power button on the case.

Might be a faulty power supply. Have you tried unhooking the case fans, and tried powering on, in some cases on computers I've built I've had to unhook extra drives and fans to get the thing to power on in the first place. Try that see if it'll power on if it does shut it off and add plug one fan in and try again.

Also the power supply may not be powerful enough for your build.
