Saw the making of this last night on BBC1.

A great british film, and what a voice Andrew Strong has.

Yeah, that programme on it was great. Alan Parker has an impressive and diverse CV as a director.

I caught the last two minutes, literally. I really wished I'd have seen it. I loved The Commitments. Still got it on video in fact, might watch it later.

What happened to Andrew Strong? Does anyone know?
With that wonderful voice he should have gone on to do great things. Did he?

He's on my iPod singing Shoulder to Shoulder with the Irish Rugby Team. After all this time, I'd never connected the two.

Just done a quick check...he's got his own website and he's got a greatest hits album out but through his website only and he's been touring Oz by the looks of it or he may not have done as he seems to have disappeared after March 2006 postponing the tour to May.

Its a great film Lovely film. Showed Irish life off perfectly.

And he was only 18 years old when he made the film. What a voice for an 18 year old.

One of my favourite films. I love the girl with the short hair. So funny!

Bronagh Gallagher. She pops up everywhere; she was in The Bill recently and even had a role in Pulp Fiction.

I particularly loved her line: 'F**k off yeh fat f***er!'

I could quote from The Commitments all day...it's full of brilliant lines.

'The Lord sent me...and the Lord blows my trumpet.'



Although looking back, Robert Arkins (Jimmy Rabbitte) couldn't deliver a line if it was handed to him on a tray.
