The Commitments widescreen DVD?

The Commitments is one of my favourite films - but I haven't got it on DVD yet, as it is only available in 1.33:1 ratio, as far as I know.

According to IMDB the orginal was 1.85:1, so surely they should release this version on DVD - does anyone know when (or if) it's coming?
 
to answer my own query, I notice a 2-disc special edition with widescreen and 5.1 dolby is being released in the US (Region 1) on March 16th. Available for preorder from playusa and amazon.com.

Looks good - but I can't see any details of a region 2 release. Lucky I have a multi-region player.
