The Colour Purple

Me.

I remember seeing it for the first time many years ago in the days of VHS (lol) and my Dad, Mum Sister and her Husband watched it on mass.

At the end everyone in the room was in tears-even my father who normally not watch anything without cowboys or monsters in.

Stunning.

Ive just watched it on Sky, havent seen it for at least ten years, the end bit made me cry when she shouted for her sister and her kiRAB hugged her. :(

I watch this film about once every five years. I don't watch it any more for fear of tiring of it.
I watched it a couple of months ago and still love it.

I start crying around the time

when she finRAB the hidden letters

and pretty much cry throughout the remainder of the movie. :D

On a side note, I have always been a widescreen fan and I remember this was the first movie on VHS that I bought that was in widescreen. It even had a message at the start saying that Steven Spielberg had requested it be shown in it's original format.

I liked the movie, but I am such a huge fan of the book that I found the (many) changes a little difficult to get my head around. The cast were amazing though!

Yea Whoopi is good at making me feel sympathetic towarRAB her but I even shed a little tear in Jumpin Jack Flash for her. The bit where he stanRAB her up at the restaurant. Do you think Oprah would still luz Hoppo today?
