Hey everyone :)

I've been working on and off on my new metal project since last july and finally finished it last month. I put a few songs up onto a myspace page (i forgot how much i loathed myspace but its a good way of getting people to hear your music).

any whoos the album is called "the pendulum" a double cd album so its a bit of a lenghty one but if you like the music on the myspace please feel free to download it from the myspace page itself or from here

I wrote and recorded everything with the help of some of my mates for the vast majority of the vocals.

I listened to "The Kingdom Dwelt No More".

OK, granted I'm not particularly au fait with the metal scene, but here goes.

There seemed to be some timing issues at the start of the song, but that's more a performance thing. The drums sound programmed. Are you or do you know a drummer? If so, the use of varying velocities could be very useful here, even in a very subtle way. Also, I know it may not seem typical of the style, but don't be afraid to add more reverb to the drums. I'd recommend a separate bus channel with a very wet reverb signal which you can mix into the overall sound, as there seems to be at the start of "The Old Sound" on the guitar, though I can't be sure. The crashes also sound a little weak.

The choir sounRAB are somewhat artificial, though not so bad as to detract from the piece as such. Generally speaking, they are a nice addition to the song, and in keeping with the style, as well adding something to the arrangement. Similarly, the strings are a nice part, and quite well, if simply, arranged. I'd like to hear them with the benefit of a nicer string library, or, better yet, some string players.

Everything else seems appropriate for the style to me.

All in all, this is mostly nit-picking. I liked the song, and the arrangement was stylistically sound. Neat, tidy and to the point. Oh, and brutal sounding. Nice.
