The Cleveland Show gets a second season pickup

Futurama's DTVs didn't gross THAT much. They did respectable. And just because Comedy Central paid a lot of money for syndication rights isn't a justifiable reason for renewing it. If anything Fox would rather make millions of reruns then spend money making new episodes.

Ya know, it's great that Cleveland Show is getting a second season, at least from the point of the production team. Once a season is done production, everyone is let go.
Having another season produced this early allows them to work even longer.

Which sells more DVDs, though? Futurama or The Simpsons? And you're not really giving any reason for how The Simpsons has been digging its own grave. You seem to feel that Fox should listen to a few whiny fans on message boards as opposed to professional critics and millions of fans who still enjoy watching The Simpsons.

And you seem like a Fox representative who thinks Simpsons will always remain a good show, it's had years worth of one bad season after another, last year's season finale was the lowest rated in the history of the show.

And of course Simpsons will sell better. All kinds of shows or films sell very well, regardless of whether they're actually deservedly making all that money or if they're really shoddy.

You just blindly dismiss Futurama and refuse to look at Simpsons any other way than that you've expressed.

Yeah, well, I'm just giving my two cents, don't like it? TOUGH BREAK.

Now let's not have this go any further off topic.

On topic: my, my, Fox sure has a lot of confidence in this show...overconfident, methinks...

What? Since when does Stewie speak in slang? Furthermore, Stewie's whole thing is he's a homosexual megalomaniac. I haven't seen any indication that Rollo is either gay or into world domination. Really, I haven't seen a single thing so far that makes Rollo seem anything like Stewie.

I thought it was pretty funny. I laughed at nearly all of Rollo's lines. Actually, I think the Jennifer Anniston one was the only one of his lines that I didn't laugh at. I also thought the scene with the bear was funny. Though, I'm not sure if any of the other family members will be funny. I don't think his wife even had any lines in that clip.

Rollo is funny, but that scares me because do we really need another series with a smart baby carrying it on their own? I'm hoping they don't go the slutty black teenage girl route with the daughter but I'm getting a Haley vibe from her. I did think the Jennifer Aniston line was funny and I even though the cutaway was a little bit funny. The wife doesn't seem like she's a minefield of comedy gold but I think she might be playing the straight man for a while.

I think the teenage daughter is supposed to be popular and attractive. I would guess is would be like if Connie from Family Guy or Lisa from American Dad was a main cast member. That should be interesting. Hayley, on the other hand, is supposed to be a hippie. She's not really supposed to be attractive or popular, as evidenced by Roger taking her to a pig party in the last episode.

I meant her attitude toward Cleveland when I said that she was giving me Hayley vibes. Not really as resentful as Meg but still not really nice about it.

When Mike Henry spoke at RIC last year, he said that Seth has next to nothing to do with American Dad aside from voicing some characters and the same is true with the Cleveland show.

I can never tell when you're kidding or not.

You mean aside from the fact that both characters are toddlers who have mature voices and act like adult men instead of children and the fact that both characters are being touted as the breakthrough characters of their perspective shows? Tell me you couldn't imagine Stewie doing that "Jennifer Aniston" routine.

The whole "player" thing for Rollo will last about as long as Stewie's matricidal tendencies. Rollo will be all about the ladies for the 1st few weeks, and then later the writers will realize that they can't have Rollo chasing skirts in every story and so they'll downplay that angle and Rollo will just become the wiseguy of the family who's not afraid to "go there", just like Stewie.

Isn't Rollo older than Stewie? I mean, Stewie really isn't a toddler, he's actually only 1, he just can talk and walk around like he's much older. Rollo looks like he's at least 3 or 4.

"Oh yeah, He'll go there."
I think that they did another character like that because they think that that's why AD isn't as big as FG.. Something like that.

I always kind of felt that Roger was the Stewie of American Dad. Not literally, of course. I know that Roger is an adult alien and not a baby, but like Stewie, Roger is the most blunt and morally ambiguous character in the cast. He's the one who says what everyone else would be afraid or reluctant to say, and like Stewie, he's the shows' most popular character after the title character, Stan (Peter).
