The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (May 16, 2008)

I am so excited of the reviews of those who've seen it! Do you think Barnes will be huge after this film? Sort of like what LOTR did to Orlando Bloom?
 
I just saw the movie today and quite enjoyed it a lot.

I bought the whole Susan/Caspian subplot. Even if it's not in the book, I don't see what everyone was freaking out about on the net. I thought it was nicely done (and definitely not overdone). I liked it.

It was a great sequel. Ben Barnes was great in the role as well!
 
i just saw this at an advanced screening (its not out in Australia yet)
i thought it was quite good.. all the Pevensies have really grown up since the last film.. and Ben Barnes was great eye-candy :lol:
the Susan/Caspian thing was cute but it was good they didn't make a huge deal out of it because it wasn't in the books..
i liked the movie soundtrack..and although i liked the last song..it just seemed a bit out of place..

I'm not sure if i'll enjoy future Narnia movies as much..because the 4 Pevensie kids only feature dominantly in these first 2 books..the next one is just focused on Lucy and Edmund..and the ones following are completely new characters..i think they are only briefly mentioned..
 
Just came back from watching the movie, and I have to say, it was much better than the first.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the first one, but this one was much more darker and a little less fantastical. I really enjoyed the Caspian/Peter jealous rivalry as well, and didn't mind the Caspian/Susan almost relationship. It was cute, it was there, but it wasn't heart stopping or anything. Which, I think was a really good move by the writers. An overbearing romance would've taken away from the general feel of the movie.

One thing that really got to me was how much it made me LOVE Peter. Lol! I didn't really care about any of the characters in the first movie, but I absolutely fell for Peter in this one. Caspian was also cute. And I really enjoyed Ed, which was a total shift from the first movie when I HATED him.

All in all, fantastic movie for its genre. However, the CODA song annoyed the HELL out of me. It actually brought the entire movie 9 notches down in my eyes. I loved every single piece of the score except the ending song. It's not so much the song itself, its how off it was from the movie's epic nature. I didn't like that. At all.

As for the fact that Peter and Susan are never going back to Narnia, if there are any other movies, I'm not watching. :shrug:
 
I couldn't remember the song you guys were speaking of.. I think I was distracted by the scene at the time.. It was too cute.. I just loved how she was so cool about it and said "It wouldn't have worked anyways"

I also think the Switchfoot song is very fitting for the film.

omg i love the song as well! i dloaded it :lol: i thought it was nice how they played the song after the Caspian/Susan kiss. the song can be interpret in different ways. it could be the "love" that caspian/susan shared for a short amount of time..or the Pevensies departure from Narnia. but however u interpret it...the song ROCKS!! it fits the end perfectly!
 
I thought this movie was better than the first one. :) It had me more interested in the plot whereas the first one did not because I found it too childish.

Ben Barnes did have a part in Stardust but this will definitely be his break out role.. He really did a great job in the film and was perfect for the role!

The whole movie was soooo good. Great story, great acting, great effects, AND it was so funny! That caught me off guard but it actually made the movie that much more enjoyable AND different from every other fantasy movie. Now I'm excited for Voyage of the Dawn Treader!
 
haha i can't wait to see it the 3rd time! :lol: then i'm done. need to save some money..and try to wait patiently for the DVD to come out.
 
[sp] as far as I know, Peter and Susan don't go back in the books. I haven't read them all so I'm not sure. I heard they go back for one battle but don't keep me to that [/sp]

Ben Barnes has been iN Stardust I believe.

but it's a great movie so it's not the story..there's just way too many other major movies out right now.
I'm still quite annoyed that the date was pushed back :irked:
 
haha same here. i think i've become really obsess with the movie bcuz of Caspian/Susan. :blush: there is just something about them. maybe its the way he looks at her..or how they cant be together. iono..but they intrigue me! and it sucks that they dont happen in the books...:( i think its genius for the writers to add the Caspian/Susan romance in the movie. no offense to all the book lovers out there who dislike the idea. but i really love it. it softens the tone of the movie, and it just makes sense for two attractive people to be falling for each other. i'm glad i'm not the only one who likes them! i feel that more ppl hate the couple...but it seems that they have a growing fanbase..considering the many Caspian/Susan fics popping out of nowhere on fanfiction.net as well as fanvideos on youtube.
 
I just saw the midnight show, and IT'S AMAZING!! Better than the first one, definitely.

And Ben Barnes is sooo gorgeous! :thud:

It's a really great movie. :D
 
I really don't think that rumor is true! I heard that there wasn't a romance between them in the film so don't worry about them changing from the book! I saw Ben Barnes on Good Morning America the other day teaching the news anchor how to use a sword.. Can't wait to see him in the movie next week!

William and Ben were on TRL today.They were both so cute lol. Anna was there, but not in person, she filmed a little video that they showed


They also showed some clips from the movie. I can't wait to see it
