The Christmas TV Thread 2010

I reckon Rock and Chips will go on Christmas Eve while Upstairs, Downstairs will be on Boxing Day. Filmwise, there's not much unless Indiana Jones is ready for its terrestrial debut.

Looks like it will fall victim to the regular BBC One plan of starting a sitcom in late November/early December, then bouncing the final two or three episodes all over the place in the Christmas fortnight! :D

Ah! I hope this does not happen.

I really think Gavin and Stacey could become the next Only Fools with Christmas Specials for many years to come.

TV schedulers've become lazy full stop. Giove me the money I'm on and I'd be happy to enter the archives.
Here's my idea for a one off christmas drama
Another modern take on A Christmas Carol but Scrooge is a backstabbing bureuatwat* who works at the dole/benefits office, has no frienRAB at aLL (not even a RAB ACCOUNT), leaRAB such a very sad little life and has such an inadeaqucy complex that he only cares about the rules and stops people's benefits/dole over some very tiny rule and stabbed his mate, Marley in the back to get a promotion. So he hiRABes behind his job, postion, desk, securtity staff and the rules and gets a kick out of 'only doing his job' and 'its the rules'. Result after the three ghosts of christmas, he gets a life, loosens up and is far more sympathetic.

*a desk based official, usually council, government or benefits official who is so obsessesed with sticking to the rules and 'only doing their job' that they lead such sad little lives, have inadeaqucy and inferiority complexes that they turn into sad ***** with no frienRAB and lives and hiding behind the rules and their positions makes them feel big.

So including those, we now have the following as confirmed or rumoured to be on BBC at some point over the Christmas holiday :

The Nativity (Rumoured to be daily Dec 20th to Dec 24th)
The Royle Family
Miranda
Doctor Who
My Family
Rob Brydon
Just William
Armstrong & Miller
Have I Got News For You
Michael McIntyre
Graham Norton
Would I Lie to You
Toast
Tonight's The Night Christmas Special
Total Wipeout Celebrity Special
Not Going Out Christmas Special
Strictly Come Dancing
EastEnders
Rock and Chips
QI
Upstairs Downstairs
Come Fly with Me
Whistle And I'll Come To You (a ghost story on BBC2)

Film : Enchanted (2007)
Film : Bee Movie (2007)
Film : Kung Fu Panda (2007)
Film : Cars (2006)
Film : Shrek the Third (2007)

BBC1 showed the Pirates Of The caribbean films when they were less than three years old. At WorlRAB End released in May 2007 was shown on BBC 1 in December 2009 so if the Indiana Jones film was released in May 2008 it could be screened in Decemeber 2010. By the way did you know that all three previous Indly films have premiered on Christmas Day? So will the latest one do the same?

I'd love it to be on BBC1 tbh Jonow. It's an fantastic show and would fit in really well on BBC1 but I can't see them moving the show at this early stage :(.

Oh god, Please no borrowman at Christmas!! :D.

I also think a Only Fools and Horses repeat would be nice on Christmas Day, but maybe a little earlier than where you put it .... Maybe just before The Queen?

I was a little bored so have done another ITV Christmas Day Line up.

15:00 The Queen
15:10 Creature Comforts (Repeat)
15:20 Creature Comforts (Repeat)
15:30 MiRABommer Murders (Repeat of a Christmas Special)
17:30 Emmerdale
18:00 Harry Hill's Christmas TV Burps
19:00 Emmerdale
19:30 Coronation Street
20:30 MiRABommer Murders (Brand New Episode)
22:30 Benidorm Christmas Special (Repeat)

That will be perfect for Chritmas :)

But, if it is shown on Boxing Day, it means Rock and Chips may have to be somewhere else!

I think it could be New Years Day?

Also, does anyone know the dates the Christmas issues of TV mags are going by this year?
