...makes some people join cults? cults are not of god. they are headed by individuals who claim god came to them, told them to clean up tthe damage done to the original christian belief. they believe they are prophets picked by god they fill thier followers with false ideology that does not stand up to the light of day. when challenged they twist the bible to justify there stand

Some people hate truth, as He who is Truth keeps telling them their ways are wrong and they need to change but they rather stay stuck in their sins as they love the darkness rather then the light, woe to these who call evil good and good evil, light darkness and darkness light.

Hinduism has a longer history. That doesn't mean anything.
In the last days (that is the whole period of time following Jesus ascension) people will not endure sound doctrine, but having itching ears, will seek out teachers who tell them things they like to hear. (VERY loosely paraphrased by my memory!) This is not an intellectual thing. Following Jesus is a matter of the heart and of the spirit.
No one who truly has a heart for the knowledge of God will ever be permanently deceived by a lie, so while it is important to be ready to explain the true gospel to those who may be in deception and who are willing to hear, it is not a matter of great concern to me. As a child does not (and should not) concern himself with his parents' financial matters, so we need not concern ourselves with God's work. When He has a task for us, He'll let us know. Our primary concern is learning to know Him.

1) In regard to the first answer, let's be clear ... Hinduism does NOT have a longer history than the Bible!!! The Israelites were the first people on earth. The Old Testament writings are right from this most ancient people! Show me ANY credible archaelogical or historical evidence to back up Hinduism being an older religion. That's the lies we have to deal with.
2) Look at an example out of Exodus whereby the Israelites were freed by God with Moses as their FIRST-HAND eyewitness to God's existence, goodness, etc. They were FREED from slavery!!! Now ... WHO is going to believe in God if not these people? But in just a couple of days of no contact with God and ... they ... melted down some gold into a golden idol to ... "worship."
In other words, it's just man's nature to be stupid.
